And recognize that Sanchez is a good framer.
Zack
9:34
But Dave! He's bad defensively! NARRATIVE!!!
Gary Bonds Sanchez

To CC's last slider looked like it could have crossed the back of the plate but shows as a ball since the k-zone graphic covers the front of the plate
Dave Cameron
9:34
Right. The strike zone is 3D, these graphics are all 2D.
Slider
9:34
Indians fan here, give me hope Dave
Dave Cameron
9:35
Rajai Davis homered off Chapman last year.
Anything can happen.
a different matt
9:35
3 runs are not a lot.
noseeum
9:35
RE hope for Indians fans, see game two.
Hello Dave
9:36
3 runs is a lot against this bullpen
E
9:36
Gardner is going work Miller out of the game
That Guy
9:37
Miller has looked mortal this series. Is he worse than usual, is the Yankees offense just that formidable, or just noise?
Dave Cameron
9:37
The latter two
ZWalt Guild Delegate

Counterpoint on Hope: Sabathia has more Ks through 4 than he's had in a game since May.
Zack
9:38
This the tallest B vs P matchup in history? lol
Dave Cameron
9:38
Randy Johnson had to have faced Tony Clark
Luber
9:38
that was the worst called strike of the night
A.
9:39
CC having that many Ks is also a point for "anything can happen"
A. Judge
9:39
I couldn't have hit that second strike with an oar...
druidiful
9:39
I don't blame Judge for striking out so much when he is getting strikes called that low.
Andre
9:39
A major reason Judge has struggled this series is the ridiculous strike zone he's gotten
Dave Cameron
9:39
Sounds like a post idea....
druidiful
9:40
Didi only hit a single? Bum.
Hello Dave
9:40
Mr. October 11th
Zack
9:41
Tony Clark: 4-11, 6 K, HR vs Randy Johnson
A.
9:41
I'd say the biggest reason judge has struck out a lot is because he strikes out a lot and the Indians pitchers strike people out a lot, might just be me
noseeum
9:42
I understand the Judge complaints, but I'd love to hear from umpires on this.  They have a hard enough job, how can we expect them to so significantly adjust the low end of the zone for one hitter?  PS: we should use technology for calling balls and strikes.
Kevin
9:42
Also maybe worst matchup for Judge in terms of entire opposing staff. Lots of power righties with good-great breaking stuff AND command.
Hello Dave
9:43
Technology isn’t even good enough to give a decent broadcast strike zone and you guys want it actually calling real strikes and balls?
Longo
9:43
tech strikes would still require a human to judge where the strike zone starts and stops for each person each at bat...
YKnotDisco?!
9:44
Jon Rauch vs Richie Sexson may have happened before.
Dave Cameron
9:44
Fun fact: Richie Sexson and I live in the same town.
A few months ago, he apparently almost got in a fight at a little league game because his team had some players ruled ineligible.
9:45
I don't think I'd want to be the one to tell Richie Sexson that his kid can't play...
That guy from France

Hi Dave in today's chat, you said that boston red sox analytical department is one of the less funded, and one of the less staffed. Who would you say is the most funded, and crowded ?
Dave Cameron
9:45
Dodgers.
It's huge.
They have more PhDs than most teams have analysts.
Matt
9:46
If the Yankees go on to win this series and let's say beat the Astros and Dodgers. Would that be the toughest/most impressive playoff run of all time?
Dave Cameron
9:46
Maybe!
