Is it absurd to think Utley is still a league average-ish player? Still a dece 2B, 95-100+ guy. What I'm saying is, Chase Utley is amazing and had an amazing career, and in his steep decline he's still nearly average. What a stud.

he was really bad two years ago, but has recovered pretty well. he might want to stick around a few more years to get to 2,000 hits and get on a HOF ballot that is less crowded. Started later, but incredible peak. It wasn't enough for Edmonds, but Utley could fare better.

no. it is ballpark agnostic, which is why it might do a better job with hitter skill even if it doesn't tell you what happened on the play.
