How awesome would it be if teams could move the outfield fences by a few feet game to game? Like, you have a flyball pitcher on the mound? Move them back a few feet today.

Hockey rinks are different sizes.  Tend to be smaller, for tough-guy teams, on the East Coast and bigger, for free-skating teams, in the West and Canada.

Hard to see how Gonzalez is worth a roster spot on LAD.  They are so loaded.  Maybe eat most of the contract in a trade?
Craig Edwards
10:03
maybe, but he would have to agree.

Bill Veeck installed a movable fence in 1947. The American League banned it following the season.

hope somebody is fact-checking things. I'm just going to choose to believe it.

NHL rinks are now a uniform size.  the older buildings with a smaller rink are gone.

Craig I got you....all facts are truth

Veeck told that fence story himself but it's debated whether it was true.

Dodgers have had some very well hit outs these last two games...they should be due for a couple breaks right?
Craig Edwards
10:06
sure, why not.

Maeda up close to 40 pitches. Seems like a lot but you have to figure that he prepared knowing he was likely to pitch a bit.
Craig Edwards
10:09
it is a tough call. I'd lean toward taking him out. any more innings and he might be out until game 6.

Craig (from a few minutes ago), I think the home team should be able to decide if to delay for rain. Their grounds crew know the stadium better than anyone else
Craig Edwards
10:09
this would lead to too much gamesmanship.

Now official: SABR has made baseball unwatchable.  2 hours = 4 innings???
Craig Edwards
10:10
average it with game 1 and we are fine.

The Cubs used to have infield grass so tall that they were playing in a cornfield

why do the astros have a train in the outfield? Doesn't seem very environmentally friendly
Craig Edwards
10:11
Albert Pujols must have felt the same way.

I don't hate the Dodgers yet, but it seems inevitable that I'll be sick of watching them in the postseason over the next decade.  Preemptive Houston favoritism.
Craig Edwards
10:12
they've already been in the playoffs the last decade. they just haven't won much.

The idea of the Nats not getting Girardi simply because he wants too much money is ludicrous right?
Craig Edwards
10:13
it seems like they got a fine manager. Girardi probably deserved better and he deserves to get a good job somewhere. francona sat out a year before he got a job that seems to have worked out pretty well for him.
Not Dave Roberts

McCullers gets no more than three more batters, right?
Craig Edwards
10:14
looks like 4.
True fact

I’ think (not positive) the home team does decide on rain delays if it’s before the game starts
Craig Edwards
10:14
correct, but once the game starts the umps decide.
