Thanks for doing these chats. In particular, your advice last week was great (Albies over Kendrick, dropping McCullers and Paxson) and seems to have saved my roto season.

Glad they worked out!

You were right about Glasnow btw. He's brutal.
Brad Johnson

Makes up for being wrong about Pham and Avila? Maybe
Isthison?
5:06
Does M. Stroman have a next level? His lack of K's makes me feel like he's a great sell high candidate in dynasties. Any loss of velo or stuff and he could be a back end SP.
Brad Johnson
5:07
He's an extreme work ethic guy, and he's exceptionally crafty too
I think there's another level in there unrelated to his actual stuff
More to the point, I expect him to be pretty steady year to year
5:08
one of those guys you remember making a bunch of bad starts, then notice the overall production helped carry your roster

Your thoughts on Dinelson Lamet and Luiz Gohara long term in a QS league?
I just saw the Lamet verdict. How about Gohara long term (QS league)?
Brad Johnson
5:08
I haven't watch Gohara yet - I lose some zeal late in the year
5:09
Statistically, I like the early results, but I do worry about pitchers with low ground ball rates
They can take longer to settle in to the majors
That said, there are more hitters than ever sitting on low pitches. If he's using his heat at the letters, he'll get a lot of free Ks

Deep Dynasty, need an OF'er. 3 years of league min. control of Godley, for 1 year of Ozuna (I'd have to extend him)
Brad Johnson
5:10
Sorry
You've supplied just enough info for me to know that I really can't advise you
Every dynasty is unique. There are leagues where that'll work and leagues where it's a poor move

Jose Berrios wore down but, feels like he has Top 20 stuff. Had a chance to watch him much?
Brad Johnson
5:11
Yea, I like him, but he's so hyped
He's guaranteed to cost more than my projection
A lot more

Btw, thanks for the advice to start Clayton Richard. It came up huge.

Looking for elite relievers to cement my ERA for the last few days of the season...who do you like best between Chad Green, Archie Bradley, Brad Brach? Saves don't matter and obviously they need to make appearances to be relevant. Thanks!
Brad Johnson
5:12
You could flip a coin for those guys. Brach may be more likely to make multiple appearances. Green and Bradley more likely to pitch once for multiple innings

Something I can't help but notice, when I watch someone like Corey Kluber. It's not just that he has a great variety of pitches, it's HOW his pitches move. Am I imagining his 2 seamer as the best/coolest pitch in baseball?
Brad Johnson
5:13
He does have really crazy movement on that pitch in particular

Greg Bird looks like a Bellinger Lite. Think if he can stay healthy next year he could put up a .260 35 HR plus season?
Brad Johnson
5:14
It's possible
I think he needs more than health to get there
There are adjustments to be made, and it's not certain he can make them
Remember, Bird was a guy scouts thought might not hit in the majors

RE: Corey Kluber...why can't more people throw that pitch?
Brad Johnson
5:15
Because a baseball shouldn't do that...
There are actually plenty of pitchers who can get that movement. The issue is consistency and command
Gerrit Cole does it sometimes
but you can tell it's a surprise when it happens

If Jake Bauers adds more power he's the next Hoskins?!

Hell no
