My personal opinion is play good teams
Jack

Will Alcorn State make a run this year?
Brian Batko
2:40
Not looking good for the Braves at 1-2 with their only W against Miles College
Zeebus Sharmko
2:40
How are Pitt players taking the last two losses...down in the dumps, or opportunities to learn from, hold their heads high, reach for the sky and get 'em next game?
Brian Batko
2:41
Hello, Zeebus. From their outward appearance, it's the latter, but I've never really noticed college athletes to be all that mopey. No clue how they're feeling behind closed doors, but I tend to think they're not all that bent out of shape about being 1-2 and losing to two Top 10 teams.

Any word on George Ashton?
Brian Batko
2:41
Negative
Dan
2:41
Is this the worst Pitt team since the early years of Walt Harris?
Brian Batko
2:42
Could be, but Dave Wannstedt was also 5-6, 6-6 and 5-7 his first three years before going 9-4. Back away from the ledge, Dan...

Can confirm, Coca-Cola museum is overrated
Brian Batko
2:42
Thank you, but it is a fantastic beverage all the same imo

Brian, every eligible healthy player dresses for home games. Isn't it obvious that Ford isn't eligible? He might be an academic red shirt.
Brian Batko
2:43
Seems that way, to some extent. But I do think I've noticed some walk-ons (read: 0.0 chance of playing) also not fully dressed, so maybe keeping Ford in sweatpants is just a way to let him know he has to keep working if he wants to see the field?

2:43
You gonna take my question or did I just waste 20 minutes waiting
Brian Batko
2:43
Sorry, Blaze. Lots of questions.

Hi sir. When is Narduzzi gonna fire Conklin because his defense is an embarrassment. And why is recruiting worse in Narduzzi's 3rd and 4th year here? I am starting to think this guy is another in a long line of busts.
Brian Batko
2:44
Everyone was on board with Narduzzi after beating Penn State and Clemson last year. It just seems the fan base has soured on him recently, with the last two losses, but obviously these things change like the wind. I think recruiting is just a tough ballgame, honestly. As for Conklin, he's been discussed.

Did Coach Duzz burn Davis' redshirt just to beat YSU or will we see a lot more of him during ACC play?  It seems now that we opened that can, we better see what's in it.
Brian Batko
2:45
Good question, Matt. Based on all we've seen, Davis was really a stop-gap measure to fill in Week 1 with Chawntez Moss unavailable. Now that Moss is back, he's been a forgotten man in the RB rotation. But that doesn't make a whole lot of sense when he's already burned his redshirt. I'll keep an eye on it, for sure.

Dr. Freddy Fu and the fine Doctors at UPMC have at last achieved their goal of transplanting preserved limbs, and corresponding abilities, of former Pitt Greats to current Pitt players. But its an expensive endevour, and one which Heather Lyke and the External Operations wing of the AD's suite have only sourced enough funds for a single operation. Coach Duzz has decided to play this card on his QB [OR his QB], and has narrowed the options down to the following. Which should he choose? A. Dan Marino's Arm B. Rod Rutherford's Legs C. Tyler Palko's Heart D. Mark Myer's Kicking Foot
Brian Batko
2:47
Has to be A. Dan Marino's Arm. Did you see the NFL Network feature on him last week? Tremendous. I hadn't seen one of those "A Football Life" shows before, but it stood up to the level of a 30 for 30 in my eyes. It's a must-watch. Tyler Palko's heart a close second, tho.

There have been many disappointments for the Pitt football already this season. What to you is the most disappointing of them? QB play from Browne? O Line Play? Receivers not stepping up? Quadree Henderson disappearing? Shawn Watson? Or something else?
Brian Batko
2:49
I think I'd say the defense in general, specifically the D-line. We knew they were a young group coming into the year, but much was made about their talent level. So far, it just hasn't shown. Three sacks in three games isn't good enough.
Jeem
2:50
I think Pitt fans in general need to calm down. I mean suggesting Pitt drop down to the MAC may be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Your thoughts?
Brian Batko
2:50
I, uh, agree
Pittguy
2:51
What is your Saturday prediction?
Brian Batko
2:54
That's a tough one. I don't think I can bring myself to predict a Pitt win. Just doesn't seem like a rational thing to do. But I'll be slightly irrational and predict a better day for the offense. How about Georgia Tech 31, Pitt 23? I think that's right around where the point spread is, anyway.
OK, a small-scale prediction, and now a large-scale prediction before we go...
Jeem
2:54
Though it's still early, through what you've seen so far do you think Pitt keeps their Bowl appearance streak alive?
Brian Batko
2:55
Given that I guessed earlier that this team will find six wins somewhere, I'll say yes. But obviously that won't make for a very fun bowl game.
2:56
OK everyone, long and busy chat this week, sorry if I couldn't get to you. But I had fun, hopefully you did too. See you all next Wednesday.
