Mom's recovered well from her glaucoma surgery and is seeing better than she ever has. My sister just chopped off the tip of her finger cutting a bagel (she made bagels which are amazing) but just the fleshy part and it should grow back
Dad died, but that was nearly 20 years ago, so the status is unchanged.

The end of FF games are always disappointing. I usually do all of the side quests so by the time I get to the end I can rick roll all the bosses in like 8 moves. Exception being FF9 and FF6, I wiped a few times on Kakfa even with all the top weapons/armor

JUST DONT GET KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND
I frequently have issues due to underleveling.
I remember having trouble with some of the optional FFIV bosses towards the end and looking up the information on early Gamefaqs and finding I was like 10-15 levels below recommended.
