I once read Cameron say he thought defensive WAR was accurate +/-2. I'll ask him when I get a chance. But do you think it fair and realistic to put so much emphasis on WAR just yet? Also, when we compare players of yesterday (way back) to today how do you compute say Babe Ruth's defensive WAR?

Do you think its optimal for Girardi to assign Betances, Miller and Chapman a 7-8-9 role? Might it be better to use Miller as a match up lefty in high leverage spots earlier on and let Chasen Streve pitch some lower leverage 7th/8th innings?

Don't go nuts about platoon splits.
Actual platoon splits don't predict future platoon splits as well as generic platoon splits until about 3000 total PA for hitters

Hard imagine a scenrior where Syndergaard doesn't eventually require TJ . Its such a sobering thought. Sure i get the "enjoy him while you can" but the idea he is possibly more susceptible to a major ligament injury due do to an elite skill (Top of scale velo) sucks.
