Are there rational reasons to keep playing Ryan Howard and not just cut him and accept the sunk costs? Are they still hoping to recoup trade value? Does this appearance of loyalty somehow help them sign other free agents in the future?

Markakis seems like a solid player still, a capable hitter, not horrible. An injury on a contender he'd be a good replacement. Or should the Braves just release him since he's so damn worthless? I'd really love to get a response from the high and mighty Dan.

How? He's a 4th outfielder at best in quality.

Note that he's not a centerfielder or a plus defensively at the corners
Now, releasing him is pointless because they pay him anyway

But the idea that they should be looking for a solid prospect ina straight up trade of his contract is pretty disrespectful to the abilities of the other 29 front offices
Maybe the team lucks out, but if someone gives a top 20 prospect for Markakis in a straight-up trade, that's their incompetence.

Dan, do you have any off the radar suggestions for RPG's for Snes/Ps1/Ps2, like no square products. Did you ever play Guardians Crusade? It was pretty good, but any description of it that you read is going to sound lame but it was a pretty good game
