What are your thoughts on Pineda this year? The strikeouts are still there but the walks and home runs are way up. Can he turn it around?

I think he's certainly better than this and his advanced peripherals haven't changed markedly from last year.
But I've always been worried about his changing speeds - I still don't think he does it well enough.
So I'm not as high on his play when he is good as some are.

With the way the Cubs are currently playing, what odds would you give them for finishing with 100 wins? What about 105?

They're probably slightly over 50/50 for 100 at this point, given what they had in the bag.
ZiPS has them up to 1.6% for 117 wins, which is crazy.

Hard to say which team, but I don't project much as a starter. Interesting option as a reliever.

Do you think something is wrong with Scherzer? Against righties he looks great but he's getting killed by lefties. Throughout his career he's been worse against lefties but not nearly this bad. Do you think it's a fluke or is there cause for concern? Thanks!

While we're getting to the point at being concerned about overall, splits are horribly noisy over a month.

But really, I'd call it a mild concern at this point. He's not noticeably wilder in my eye - he doesn't seem to having *that* serious command issues

Meh. He's come back down enough last couple of years that I'm not sure it's all that amazing, though you do want a decent backup at catcher given Grandal's injury history

He had a great run in Boston and looks like he's having one in Chicago even if they never win the WS and he's still in his early 40s
He may still be in the first half of baseball career.
Though there's a possibility that he walks away early
