Not yet there isn't. There may be one started next week if he's not at mandatory minicamp, which would not be mandatory for him if he has no signed contract. Nevertheless, it would look like a shot over their bow if he does not attend.
Remember, Troy Polamalu rarely attended voluntary OTAs and it was never a big deal.

Hello Ed,
Besides DeCastro, I'm pretty sure that AB, Ben, Pouncey and Bell will be in the TOP 100 players of NFL, but how about Shazier? Do you think NFL players voted for him?
Ed Bouchette
2:17
Not sure, but he did make his first Pro Bowl last year. I put no stock in any of that top 100 stuff. It is done purely to keep people watching in the offseason and means zilch.

Ed: Always enjoy the chats. Has anyone come up with a strategy for improving performance on the Road....?
Seems like that has been their Achilles heel to a great extent
Ed Bouchette
2:19
Well, they did win five in a row away from home until they lost at New England in the AFC title game, so maybe they found that new strategy of winning on the road, to a point.

Expecting Martavius to have breakout year if he stays on the field. Reminds me of Randy Moss except he's bigger and stronger. MB will make everyone forget about L. Green signing/bust. Agree?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
I can tell you he WON'T have a breakout year if he does not stay on the field.

What's the real reason for not signing Kap?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
Money, perhaps? And I'm sure you mean other NFL teams and not the Steelers, who are set at QB.

Every year, one team makes a big jump into the postseason in the NFL. Any idea which team that might be this year?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
By process of elimination, I have picked Cleveland as one that will not.

Which AFC North team has had the worst off season so far? I saw where a couple of Ravens were already injured and out for the year. Staying healthy and outta trouble is the perfect summer. Thanks Ed.
Ed Bouchette
2:24
Yes, that would be the Ravens, who have lost TE Dennis Pita (hip) and CB Tavon Young (ACL) both it appears for the season

Ed...even if you assume the Steelers keep 9 db's...Gay would have a hard time being on that 9..unless Mike T. uses a loyalty pick..thats expensive for a VET who won't crack the top 4 db's(Burns , Cockrell, Sutton..Golson or Allen)
Ed Bouchette
2:25
William Gay's value might be in his ability to play safety too

What are your thoughts on Florio's comments that the Steelers are trying to low ball Villanueva and that they should pay him top money?
Ed Bouchette
2:27
The Steelers have some leverage and they will use it. They will not pay someone money as if they are a UFA when indeed they are not. It just wouldn't make sense. They did not do it with Antonio Brown 2 years ago when he was under contract and they're not going to do it with Al, although I believe they would pay him a lot more than he's earning now if he wants to do a longer-term deal.

In your opinion, which is easier to write about...when the Steelers are doing well or when doing poorly?
Ed Bouchette
2:28
Some of my best stories I believe were written when they went 5-11 in 1988. That's not to say when they are winning Super Bowls good stories are hard to find.

2:29
What is you opinion about a holder? Is it better to use the punter or backup QB?
Ed Bouchette
2:30
Many teams, including the Steelers, have preferred the punter for this reason -- he has much more time to practice with the kicker and long-snapper while the quarteback is practicing with the offense.

2:30
Do you think that Omar Khan and Colbert will stay with the Steelers for a lot longer or do you think they will explore opportunities elsewhere? Both are considered top notch correct?
Ed Bouchette
2:31
I think you will at least see Kevin Colbert ultimately retire as a Steeler and Omar has been around so long, he may not now want to go elsewhere.

Have you ever dealt with any Little League Parent (or Spouse) types with NFL players? The NBA is about to get that in LaVar Ball, and I know a certain former Broncos punter used to have his wife challenging any writer who even hinted at negativity toward him.
Ed Bouchette
2:31
No, never to any kind of extent.
SantaMonicaSteel
2:32
Which Steeler player, coach, or front office person is the best golfer in the organization? Usually it is either the QB or P. I assume it is Ben.
Ed Bouchette
2:33
It used to be Dick LeBeau. I must confess, though, I do not keep track of such things. That is a question for Gerry Dulac, the top golfer among the press corps.

Ed, what besides these chats do you enjoy the most about covering the Steelers this time of year?
Ed Bouchette
2:33
Lunch.
Thank you for another great chat. See you next Tuesday, the start of mandatory minicamp
