Good afternoon. 5 minutes early but what the heck, we'll be on Tom Coughlin time. Let's begin

Any idea as to why James Harrison didn't play Sunday, and how James felt about being made a healthy scratch?
Ed Bouchette
1:56
Mike Tomlin issued a long explanation when asked that question today. He said he wanted to go with the "hot hand" in Chickillo and that he will play Harrison when he sees fit and he predicted Harrison will respond in a big way when he does.
James left the locker room without talking and he normally only talks on Friday during the week. I cannot imagine he's happy about it. On the other hand, he's not getting beat up, he's collecting his money, they're winning and playing well on defense and they may need him at some point.

Players aren't allowed to do celebrations with pretend guns or bows and arrows, and we know they are opposed to gambling, (as they allow a team to move to Sin City) so how long until they poo poo simulated gambling like rolling dice? Or are the Steelers going to claim they are playing Yahtzee?
Ed Bouchette
1:57
Never thought of that. Yahtzee, right, that's the ticket. Truly, whether it's allowed or not, I think an inventive group like they are could come up with a better celebration.

Worried about Lawrence Timmons...  Seems out of character for him to skip out on the Dolphins like he did.  Any idea what he's dealing with?
Ed Bouchette
1:58
No. Maybe his doctors do. He was an ironman and steady as she goes in Pittsburgh. Steelers spokesman said organization would not speak on the matter so no one bothered to ask Mike Tomlin today.

Ed, was that your voice I heard yelling "run the flea flicker!" during Todd Haley's press conference last week?
Ed Bouchette
1:59
That was Cam Heyward. Maybe he was trying to imitate me, although I hate flea flickers.

Don't you think it's safe to say, that even though Harrison didn't get on the field Sunday, he's still likely to have valuable contributions through the season and is still a very important Steeler?
Ed Bouchette
2:00
Yes, unless these other guys keep playing like they are and do not get hurt.
JerseySteel

Hi Ed - do you think the Dolphins will release Timmons and potentially come back to Pittsburgh (like LaGarette Blount went back to NE after the Steelers released him)? Different circumstances obviously
Ed Bouchette
2:01
No, I don't see that but the situation seems to be unresolved yet so I'm not going to predict.
JerseySteel
2:01
Hi Ed - Any updates on the condition/status of Watt and Tuitt?
Ed Bouchette
2:01
Mike Tomlin said both have a chance to play this week. Of course, he did not rule Tuitt out last week either.

Hi Ed! First time question asker, long time fan! With Baltimore 2 weeks away, and a few minor injuries (James-ankle, TJ- groin), how do you feel going into this must win game to stay tied at the top of the division?
Ed Bouchette
2:02
Way too early to call anything a "must" win. But if they have eyes on the 1 or 2 seed in the playoffs, it's a game they better win.

Looks like Vance McDonald is injured already? Are the coaches happy with what they've seen of him so far?
Ed Bouchette
2:03
He's merely taking after his predecessor who came in outside at the position. I don't know how they could be happy because he's done little so far, including dropping the only pass thrown to him in Cleveland. Give it time though.

Does your gut tell you TJ Watt will play this Sunday, how about Tuitt?
Ed Bouchette
2:03
Yes to Watt, no to Tuitt.

Hi Ed. Thank you for your time. So what's your thoughts of Ben's play the first two games..thank you
Ed Bouchette
2:04
He's been OK on an offense that is not in sync this early.

Was the clock correctly timed after that first TD? The coaches seemed to expect more time, but they didn't get it, resulting in a penalty.
Ed Bouchette
2:05
Mike Tomlin took the blame for that. He thought the clock stopped at 20 and they would reset it to 40. They did not.
Alex
2:05
Hi Ed, why Tomlin Kept the starters the Last 5 minutes?the game was already won. Why not give a few more carries for Conner instead of risking Bell?  The same goes with Shazier, let the Last 5 minutes for dirty red
Ed Bouchette
2:05
They did play Watson at RB in the final minutes.

Ed, Is it fair as a fan to be annoyed by the injury reporting by coaches?  When addressing injuries I have little faith in teams that what is being reported is authentic.  Give it to us straight up!
Ed Bouchette
2:06
Blame that on the Bill Belichick effect. Coaches, like Mike Tomlin,  probably got tired of him listing everyone as questionable every week and rarely giving useful info on injuries.

Everyone's harping including Ed B. about Sean Davis' second year being break out -- yet he's regressed. Thoughts?
Ed Bouchette
2:07
Regressed? You can tell this after two games?
Wisconsin Winters
2:07
Ed, I notice on PAT's that the ball is lined up on the left or right hash mark. Why? Does the kicker have the choice where the ball is lined up for PAT's?
Ed Bouchette
2:07
Yes he does
johnny
2:08
on game week is there a deadline as to how late a player from the practice may be added to that weeks 53 man roster
Ed Bouchette
2:08
By 4 p.m. Saturday, or the day before they play if it's another day.
Wisconsin Winters
2:08
Ed, Is Marshawn Lynch HOF worthy today?
Ed Bouchette
2:08
Quick reaction, not in my book.
Indiana Steeler
2:08
How many weeks do you think before Offense is in Rythem?
Ed Bouchette
2:09
I thought they'd be there by now because for the most part it's a veteran group, allowing that Bell and Bryant have missed time
