Is not wanting to give up Musgrove the sticking point for a quintana deal? Or are they really viewing tucker and martes as untouchables? In the past astros were aggressive parting with prospects but then again phillips, appell, Velasquez (good but health) all had serious flaws and might have been losing value anyway.

I bet Tucker is the sticking point.

Assuming you can have each of them for one year, would you rather have: Trumbo for $12M, Bautista for $15M, or Encarnacion for $20M?
Eno Sarris
12:50
Bautista I think.

Since you're going into the beer market, I was wondering do you think we're in Peak Craft Beer or is there still room for growth? I've been in the craft beer game for about ten years now and I'm starting to have palate fatigue.
Eno Sarris
12:52
There are so many styles I think you might find yourself getting into something new, Pilsners or a new take on the IPA, or hoppy sours, or something like that. That's what has happened to me every time I've had that personally. And about growth: yes, we're at Peak Store Craft Beer. But! We're not at Peak Local Craft Beer. More local brewpubs, fewer SKUs at the store.

In what situations should we assume that a high strikeout rate won't ruin a prospect's ceiling? Tools like KATOH hate high strikeout rates, but Kris Bryant seems to have turned out okay. In a similar vein, strikeout rate is Yoan Moncada's primary concern, but should we view it as something which could potentially ruin him, or nothing more than a minor nuisance?
Eno Sarris
12:53
It's my Achilles Heal of analysis. In fairness, statistically walk rates are less meaningful in the minors and high strikeout rates are indeed a red flag. I think that there are a few things about contact that are innate. But! You can learn to anticipate better, as Clint Frazier told me, I know what they're trying to do to me better. Still. HIgh K rates leave me cold.

In a world where Otani came ove and was allowed to pitch and DH full time, how would you like to see fantasy baseball (weekly leagues) handle that. 1) you can acquire both OFF and DEF stats for him 2) you have to choose to employ him as a pitcher OR a hitter on a weekly basis 3) you can separately draft Otani the pitcher and Otani the hitter 4) some other thing I cant think of
Eno Sarris
12:55
I think it would be more interesting to have to try to value him as one acquisition that gives you both stats. It'd probably mean that Yahoo would have to award you two separate players, though, just for lineup use, and so that means that every league can decide how to deal with those two separate players.

Is Sale better or worse in 2017 than he was in 2016?
Eno Sarris
12:55
Better. Framing.

Are Lindor & Betts already top 10 players in real life baseball?
Eno Sarris
12:56
Yes.

If Graveman isn't enough to bring a CF to Oakland, what would it take to get Dalton Pompey into the Green & Gold?
Eno Sarris
12:57
Has Pompey fallen a-la Jorge Soler, to the point where Doolittle for Pompey works for both sides?

WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DO NOT LIKE PARTS OF AN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE? THERE IS NOTHING TO NOT LIKE, FELLOW HUMAN. IT IS PERFECT AND NOTHING COULD GO WRONG. LET US GO AND TAKE OUR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE TO A RECREATIONAL AREA AND BASE SOME BALL AROUND.

Oh right, there's also the idea that a computer-driven car may make some inhuman decisions at the wrong times.

Doesn't all the giolito hate seem a bit trendy and overblown after 6 MLB appearances. He still had a 2.97 and pretty good ratios across 3 levels in the minors. If his stuff was down due to preseason mechanical adjustments, isn't the logical counterpart that he can make adjustments to get back to 2015 form while not being rushed with the pressure of contending gone?
Eno Sarris
12:58
That's the hopeful side. I think spin is innate and he's got low spin on the fastball, so short of going to a sinker, his fastball is going to be flat.

"Shohei Otani agrees to sign with mlb only if he can hit as well as pitch." Does he still get signed?
Eno Sarris
12:59
Yes. Everyone I've talked to in the game about him says "he's legit, from both sides."

Is Willie Calhoun destined to be traded an AL team given his likely lack of a defensive position?
Eno Sarris
12:59
He'll fake a position for a few years.

Think Montgomery will be the 5th Cub starter? Andy how will he do?
Eno Sarris
1:00
Yes and I like him.
Matt
1:00
You're high on Jharrel Cotton. Are you putting him as a #5 fantasy starter, or a guy to get for the bench and hope he develops into a 4/5?
Eno Sarris
1:00
Oh I must be high on him because I like him better than 4/5. I mean, yes, draft him as a five.

what time are you going to see rogue one?
Eno Sarris

In the theater is tough for me with the two rug rats but the four year old might be able to handle it and loves Star Wars, at least in theory. He'll be a little scared but I think we might try it.

Has power without anything else lost any value in the of corners? I know overall value counts but 30+ hrs and close to 100 RBI like jay bruce or Matt Kemp in 2016 used to have some intrinsic value even without great obp or defense. Of course they are also older but I would not expect them to basically have zero value. Also that Chris carter got non tendered after a 41 hr season seems crazy (I know he still isn't a great hitter). Is that the new analytics?
Eno Sarris
1:02
Yeah I wrote about the changing shape of the outfielder -- they're literally smaller and lighter than they were before, compared to the league's other positions -- and this is part of it. It's no accident that the easiest thing to find on the market right now is power without much else.

Will the hard caps on international spending chase young top international prospects to Asia, assuming they can sign them for more money in their first contract?
Eno Sarris
1:03
yes.
Gotta love unintended consequences.

The Mets should sign Chris Carter to platoon with Duda. Who's with me!?!!
