Of the following Braves position prospects which one do you think has the best chance at being a solid major league contributor: Dustin Peterson, Travis Demerritte, Austin Riley, Dylan Moore, Ronald Acuna or Christian Pache?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:39
Pache and Acuna are my favorites of the guys on that list, though Peterson probably has a better "chance" as you put it, of being a contributor because of his proximity to the Majors and skillset.

Braves prospect that you're higher on than most of the scouting community?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:40
Luis Mora

Did scouts miss on Kris Bryant's speed and defense? Both have been much better than advertised in the majors, haven't they?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:41
I know I thought he'd be in LF by now
RotoLando
2:42
The prospect world's hottest debate is over Anthony Banda. OK, that's a huge exaggeration. What do you think of him?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:42
Throws hard but the fastball plays down because it's straight. Plus changeup. Breaking ball is below average. I think he's a reliever.

Berrios, Blair and Cody Reed have each disappointed in their small sample sizes in the ML this season. What do highly touted prospects trade values look like once they struggle in the ML and haven't yet turned around? Like did Buxton has strong trade value before his recent performance?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:44
Teams don't typically want to sell low on guys like that, especially ones that understand how difficult it is to play Major League Baseball.

How does the Angels system look? Still as bleak as last year, or are there signs of life?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:45
Signs of life, though still not much. Might be better than Arizona and Miami's systems, though.

2:46
Anybody besides Jahmai Jones you like in the Angels' system?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:46
Julio Garcia, Brandon Sanger, Chris Rodriguez, David Fletcher. There are guys.

Do you have any thoughts on Cionel Perez, the Cuban LHP who reportedly agreed to terms with the Astros today?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:47
Wrote him up for J2. He was in my top 10. https://t.co/WrEY0hj9Tl

Will Caritini be a big league catcher?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:48
I like the bat enough to project him as a big leaguer even if it isn't at catcher.

Thoughts on Jalen Miller?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:49
Twitchy, I think there's enough there to stay at SS. Don't think he'll ever have much power but might hit enough to play everyday anyway. I'm a fan.

I look at Dubons hitting numbers at AA along with excellent defensive scouting reports and see a profile of an average regular. Why do you disagree?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:53
When I saw him in person this summer the bat speed was bad. Reports I've gotten since then indicate that I was either wrong or that he has the bat control to make things work despite mediocre bat speed. He's one of my more important Fall League evals.

On #1 ceilings: How many guys that become "#1 starters" get there being viewed as a #1 potential guy throughout vs. how many grow into it after they make the majors and improve?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:56
That's probably a question that's objectively answerable with research, though I expect a question that needs answering before its done is "What defines a #1 starter?" If you use the scale like I do (http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/scouting-explained-the-20-80-scouting-scale/) then there are maybe 6-8 of them, tops. Is that enough of a sample for any kind of research to be substantive? #1s are freaks.

Did Mike Trout get slower? Why doesn't he steal as much as he used to?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:58
He has.

Are you impressed with the work of AJ Puck(ett)?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:59
Has solid stuff. Low-90s, flashes a plus change, average braking ball and throws strikes.

Any prospects that stick out in your mind as guys you really believed in or really did not believe it that you were wrong about? Did you take any lessons from it? Not asking to criticize. Scouting is obviously hard, but I would think most scouts would look at their misses to gather info just as much as their hits. Thanks!
Eric A Longenhagen

Domonic Brown.

Taught me about the difference between athleticism and explosiveness.

Who has the sweetest right handed swing you've ever seen? "sweet" in the way Jr's swing was
Eric A Longenhagen

Cutch
Andrew

What orgs do you get the most questions about? The least?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:02
Atlanta, the New York teams and the Cubs. Least would be Miami.

3:02
Who will have a better career? Luke Weaver or Jose Berrios?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:02
I'm really down on Berrios, will say Weaver.

3:04
cincinnati cited rest as the reason for not calling up a few of their top prospects, is this common/a smart idea?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:05
Yes and yes. Also draft position. No reason to rush guys who'd have no other purpose in 2016 other than soothing fans.
Billy

Jairo Beras K/BB numbers ugly but others look good. Upside and floor?
