I don't know that it was a test run but some of it was entertaining, some of it wasn't. But the league likes having one big party, and so does TV, so you never have to worry about that changing.

Who will compete with Cockrell? Doesn't seem like the front office plans on him as the lo g term starter. Maybe Sutton competes with him?
Gerry Dulac
11:22
That is not only correct, that is the plan. We'll see how long that takes to unfold.

would the Steelers be interested in someone like Calvin Pryor or Michal Kendricks? Both are certainly available.
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Not sure, but highly unlikely they will add someone now, maybe in July.

What is your take on Matakevich? I liked what little we saw of him last year always seems to be around the ball.
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Agreed. Nice player, smart. Nice backup tho.

Is there any hope of Golson being dependable this year, even as a 4th CB?
Gerry Dulac
11:24
Well, there is some, but it's slim hope after not playing for two years. They are not counting on him, but they are curious to see what skills have diminshed.

I understand the financial commitment involved with Ladarius Green as well as his potential impact, however, do you feel the Steelers are being irresponsible in any way by allowing him to continue playing for them. The hit that gave him his last concussion didn't seem to be a particularly violent one, so it seems like there's a very high risk of more concussions as well as the type of permanent brain injury/condition that's been all over the news of late.
Gerry Dulac
11:26
He won't play at any point if his medical report puts him in danger. They won't allow it. But if he is cleared medically, then it is up to him, not the team, to decide if he wants to continue playing. He assumes the risk, not them. The responsibility to ultimately make that decision lies with him.

If a player was in concussion protocol at the end of the season, would he now have to pass it to participate in OTA's?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
Of course.

Looks like they are looking for safety depth, especially at FS. Tre Boston was brought in recently. Would you think would look at a depth signing there?
Gerry Dulac
11:27
They are always looking to improve their depth, which is why they looked at Keenan Lewis, too.

Are they still OK with AB returning punts, or would they like the rookie CB to take over for him?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
Ideally, yes, they would like Sutton to be that guy, but as long they have AB (and he never gets hurt, knock on wood) they will continue to use him as a weapon, whether frequently or infrequently.

Do they view Moats as having enough flexibility to move inside or out?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
No. Outside.

I look at the receivers and unlike most, I feel has a lot of room to get better. I also think that JuJu can come in and be that third receiver. I thought Rogers did ok, but I do not think he was as good as some people talk about. What are your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
That's why they drafted JuJu. The X factors here are Bryant and Coates. If Bryant can stay clean and Coates can develop more of a consistent mindset, they are a dynamic group, maybe the best in the league.

That's all the time we have today kids. Have to run to a US Open qualifier. See you next week. Bye now.
