Assuming the Warriors extend Jordan Poole, do you see them trading Moody and perhaps Wiggins this offseason to get a big man?  Is Rudy Gobert a possibility since Utah may blow up the roster?

Depends on Wiseman's health. He missed the entire season but you'd have to assume he should be 100 percent by training camp. They spent the No. 2 pick of the draft on him. They are committed to develop him. They might pick up a vet on a minimum salary and something like that. Gobert would only be in play if Wiggins is part of the deal. The Jazz would only do that to clear Gobert's salary. He's in the first year of a long-term extension -- even though Warriors don't seem to mind luxury tax penalties that would be an awful be penalty to play long-term -- he's making anywhere between 38-46 mil over next four years.

The Rockets saw a big jump in development after signing Dennis Schroeder mid-season, giving them strong leadership and minimizing rookie mistakes. Think they'll bring him back on a short term deal?
Dana Gauruder
11:09
Certainly a possibility. I think Schroeder would prefer not to sign one-year deals every offseason. He badly overestimated his market last summer, which is why he was willing to sign a one-year deal with a contender (Celtics). I would have to think he'd want at least 2 guaranteed years but again, depends on his market.

Are the Blazers willing to trade their lottery pick for Jerami Grant or an equivalent player?
Dana Gauruder
11:15
My sense is they are. The Blazers made it clear after the season they plan to be very active and go all out to become a serious contender. Grant's a solid player who is entering the final year of his deal. But the incentive for both parties depends on how the lottery shakes out. The Pistons are in the No. 3 spot and Blazers No. 6. If Blazers move into the top 3, they more likely will keep the pick. And do the Pistons want 2 lottery picks if they fall out of the top 3? A lot will be determined when lottery occurs next month. But rest assured, the Blazers roster will look a lot different in training camp than it does now.

Who would be the best and most realistic big man targets for the Hornets to trade for?
Dana Gauruder
11:20
We had an earlier question on the possibility of Gobert being traded to the Warriors. A team like the Hornets could really use that interior presence. Naturally, they would need salaries to match up and Hayward's 30 million would come in handy if Jazz decided to change their mix. Beyond that, perhaps Myles Turner if the Pacers continue their rebuild? Those are the 2 guys that come to mind. Charlotte needs a player with a defensive mindset.

Which top prospect fits the Rockets rebuild needs better? Chet or Jabari?

Holmgren's size and length make him a unique player. He's taller than most centers but his future is more at power forward -- he doesn't have the bulk for a middle man and would get pushed around pretty easily by stronger interior players. But that shot blocking presence and offensive game is intriguing. Smith will benefit from playing with guards adept in pick and roll situations. Could be a lethal offensive combo with either Green or Porter. I don't think they'd be disappointed to grab either one but I'd lean toward Smith.

Who do you think will be the next coach for the Lakers, if you had to guess? And who is the right man for this current roster?

A lot depends on the Westbrook situation. I can't see the Lakers running that trio of Russ, LeBron and AD back unless they have no other options. They have very limited resources to upgrade the roster, so unless a rebuilding team is willing to take on Westbrook's salary cap hit for a year, they're really stuck. They'll have to take low-cost fliers on some players. Bottom line is I don't think it matters who they hire as head coach if they can't make significant roster changes. I guess Quin Snyder would be logical if Utah flames out in postseason. LeBron seems to like the idea of Mark Jackson taking over, though Jackson has a cushy TV job -- not sure if how badly he wants to get back into the coaching ranks. The Lakers won a championship with Vogel two years ago and got rid of him when things fell apart this season due to injuries and the ill-advised Westbrook deal. What the front office does with the roster is far more important than the coaching hire.

Let's examine the playoffs -- it's interesting to note how things can swing in one game or two. A lot of people expected the Nets to beat the Celtics. Now, Brooklyn is on the ropes after losing 2 games. Milwaukee was supposed to dispose of Chicago rather easily. Then the Bucks lost Game 2 and Middleton got hurt. Phoenix dropped a home game to New Orleans and won't have Booker for a couple of games.
11:53
The Mavs looked dead in the water without Doncic but Brunson stepped into a starring role and that series is even. As noted earlier, big changes could be coming in Utah if it gets bounced off the playoffs early. Remember how the Heat were bickering before the playoffs? Everything is fine now after 2 strong wins and Butler has a huge game.

Is Simmons shopped by the Nets this offseason for another star?
Dana Gauruder
11:56
You mean, like a college one-and-done? Simmons plays one playoff game and they ship him to another team? Early indications are that Simmons likes it in Brooklyn and seems to have formed some friendships there, particularly with KD. I have to believe the Nets will want to see how the KD, Irving, Simmons trio will mesh for a season before thinking about trading him .

What is your opinion of the portrayal of Jerry West in the HBO "Winning Time" series.  I met the Logo years ago and the man I spoke with was nothing like the character portrayed in the HBO series
Dana Gauruder
11:59
I don't have HBO, so I have not seen the series. From what I've read and the comments I've seen from Kareem and others, West has a very legit beef. You can take poetic license up to a point for dramatic purposes but to paint a living person in that manner sounds way over the line.

Way too early 22-23 predictions.  Clippers will win it all
