When should I use a 3 year sample and when should I use a 1 year sample? Couldn't a 3 year sample be somewhat misleading since talent can change?

Always begin with a three-year sample, and then shorten the sample on a case-by-case basis when you have compelling reason to believe that something has meaningfully changed

I'd say the Sens are a mix of the Angels and Amaro-era Phillies. Totally analytically ignorant (Phillies) with one star that keeps their floor high enough to never be truly awful (Angels)

I don't think that teams build for the postseason. But certain regular-season factors can help, like a top-heavy pitching staff
