Re: Baez and "Some guys, you'll never get through to all the way", this is actually why I would argue there's some rush on Happ. Baez is one of those guys whose popularity outpaces his actual contributions.

Baez is a useful and versatile player. He just finished with a 94 wRC+. He's not this bad. He's just had a horrible month

Is there any stat that looks at a catchers era that phases out how good the rotation hes pitching to is? So a catcher with an exceptional pitching staff can be compared to a catcher with a bad pitching staff on how he calls for pitches and locations mixed in with framing

I don't think it exists in that way. Obviously there are framing metrics, and some people have taken a stab at game-calling metrics. But a lot of it is just guesswork
