Don't see it. With the questions arising elsewhere in the staff they need him more than they did already. He'll still be ridiculously cheap.
More likely an extension candidate, really. I've always seen him as the most likely since he's a late-bloomer and so probably has more incentive to do a deal
(most likely of Mets starters, that is)
Slightly Upset

Why isn't the NHL rumor website on the trade rumors app
Jeffrey Todd
2:16
Hold on ... I have an answer for this
2:17
Likely early September for iOS, mid-Oct for Android
Sorry had to look that up
Jason

Do you think the Dbacks FO should be cleaned out? Now people are starting to side with TLR and Stewart...
Jeffrey Todd
2:18
Are they? I guess from my perspective, I don't think they have done a great job. It's fine to be old school and utilize the arguably lost dark arts that you possess. But they seem not only to be willingly ignoring some trends, but aren't really doing the work to become aware of simple rule changes that change the way you play the game.

(Draft spending, international bouses.)
or bonuses, whatever

Is this off season the time to sell high on Brian Dozier?
Jeffrey Todd
2:20
Only if it brings back pieces that are just as talented and line up a bit better with Minny's contention timeline.
I'll guess no.

Talk about Jeff Todd.
Jeffrey Todd
2:20
Same answer as with Sanchez.
James

Why does everyone think Josh Reddick is a good outfielder? He is hardly above replacement level.
Jeffrey Todd
2:20
The UZRs have not been kind of late, it's true.
Paul M
2:21
Puig gets traded now or in the offseason?
Jeffrey Todd
2:21
More likely the offseason IMO.
M.J.
2:22
Why are the Braves opening a new park next year when Turner Field opened in '97? With the Georgia Dome and Phillips Arena taking so much action, Turner Field shouldn't be in rough shape. If it's in bad shape, how did this happen?
Jeffrey Todd
2:22
I wish I knew how to insert a $$$ emoji in chat answers.
Mat Klentak
2:22
What is your opinion of the Phillies rebuilding efforts so far?
Jeffrey Todd
2:23
They seem to be doing the right things. I mean, they aren't alone in that, though -- the nature of the endeavor generally means you can accumulate a lot of young talent in short order.
Hard for me to say they have done more/faster than, say, the Brewers or Braves.
2:24
I'm interested to see how Klentak uses Philly's added financial muscle this winter. He already has to some extent with the decision not to trade Hellickson. (And to acquire him in the first place.)
Fred
2:24
Do you envision a heavy trade market this offseason with a weak fa class looming?
Jeffrey Todd
2:24
Could be, though we've seen plenty of trades go along with a big free agent class too.
Hector
2:25
Has Harper's back to reality season lowered his potential earnings?
Jeffrey Todd
2:25
Probably, yeah. I mean, he could bust out of it and never look back, but the Nats aren't stroking a $500MM check right now.
2:26
(Not that they would in any extension scenario, but ... well you know what I mean.)
Ricky
2:26
Will teams be heavily interested in Rich Hill like they were at the deadline?
Jeffrey Todd
2:26
If he is healthy down the stretch, he should get a lot of interest with a solid AAV on a two-year deal.
Dave Stewart
2:27
Question about waivers nl players have to pass through the nl to get to the al and vice versa correct?
Jeffrey Todd
2:27
Just put in a claim and see what happens.
Tony LaRussa
2:27
Will I have a job next season?
Jeffrey Todd
2:27
I'm going to guess they let his contract expire and say "thanks for your services."
Bill Lyons
2:28
What would Mays and Mantle pull in with today's salaries? Had to ask!!
Jeffrey Todd
2:29
If they hit the market at like 27 years old - they broke in early, of course - you could be looking at 10/400MM type contracts I think.
