The Mariners have like 15 solid relievers throughout their system b/c of injuries and so on. What do they do with all of them before next season?

Well, as this season has shown, you often won't see all those guys in the majors at the same time. Plus, so long as they have options, it is often quite advantageous to be able to cycle guys through.
And if all else fails, or you need some 40-man space, you cash 'em in for other needs.

I have Plouffe as a likely non-tender this fall, FWIW. If that's how they see it, yeah, they could probably just stand to get whatever they can.

I have never felt comfortable just relying on them as gospel, but it's hard to find a clear source of info. The one thing that I wondered about re Maddon's comments, though [paraphrasing]: "we just moved Dex back & his metrics improved." Okay, so does that reflect on your previously poor positioning or the metrics?

Would require a haul of near-MLB talent. They'd probably be after Hedges and a talented OF, or something like that -- guys they could basically plug into the MLB lineup and hope for the best.
