Do you think Chacin will stay in San Diego?

I think he would have to really, really love it in San Diego and consider the pitching coach (Darren Balsey) a top reason for his success. And that's because he's pitched well enough that other teams are going to outbid the Padres. Would need to take the San Diego discount.

I've had a great time in Arizona. I'd love to stay, but the question is: Can They Afford Me?

I think they can. Even with several impact players who should get big raises in arbitration (Pollock, Lamb, Ray, Peralta, Walker), I think they can spend big money on one player. With the entire rotation under contract and Archie Bradley capable of stepping into the closer's role, I think they'd be willing to spend on a bat, especially one who has made such a huge impact.

They'd probably have to eat a majority of Yasmany Tomas' contract in this case since there would be nowhere for him to play, although this front office didn't sign him so they wouldn't have any problem doing that.

Hand for Baez,in the offseason. I think it works, what do you think?

Javier? I don't think the Cubs would trade him for a reliever. And I'm sure they're going to be gun-shy with the way things have worked out with Justin Wilson. My advice to any MLB general manager. Don't trust pitchers. Especially not a relief pitcher. Comfort zone appears to be important so you never know what will happen after a trade.

What are the chances that I am with a New team in 2018? Brian Anderson has looked pretty good, and he's considerably cheaper. New owners are looking to trim payroll.

Very good chance that Prado and/or Dee Gordon is traded and Brian Anderson is the favorite to be the starting 3B in '18.

What should I do with my infield next year?

I think they'll shop Galvis and Joseph. Rhys Hoskins at 1B, Cesar Hernandez at 2B, J.P. Crawford at SS, Maikel Franco at 3B. If Galvis isn't traded, he stays at SS and Franco/Crawford/Kingery battle it out for the 3B job.

Think the Cardinals can pull off a trade for Alex Colomé without too many high profile prospects

For 3 years of Colome, I think they'd have to give up one of their top pitching prospects (Weaver, Flaherty, Alcantara) as the centerpiece of the deal.

Why didnt I sell at deadline?  Could have really accelerated rebuild

If you hadn't won a World Series with this core group of players, I'd say it was a missed opportunity. But I'm fine with letting them have one last chance to get back to the playoffs. They weren't out of it at the trade deadline.

Who was your favorite childhood team?
AvatarJason Martinez

I've been a Padres fan since before Tony Gwynn was in the majors. My favorite player in 1982 was a guy named Ruppert Jones. The fans at Jack Murphy Stadium used to yell "Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" whenever he came to bat.
