Holdout, but I don't know when it will end.
Jim
6:49
Speaking of goaltending, who do you see as an under the radar guy capable of taking the step into reliable starter territory?
Gavin Lee
6:50
There are a few young backups that look poised to become the next big things. Saros in Nashville, Korpisalo in Columbus.
6:51
But I actually think Calvin Pickard is ready to be a #1
I know Fleury is the starter for now, but Pickard is really, really good.
Just was hidden in Colorado.
Jim
6:52
Hard to see either of those guys unseating the incumbents this year, but I think we'll see a lot more Pickard than expected.
Gavin Lee
6:52
Agreed, though Saros has a sneaky shot to see some extra playing time. If Rinne falters, the fans there know how good he can be.
Dan
6:52
After the playoffs last year can the caps keep Ovi off the first line?
Gavin Lee
6:53
I think you'll see them mix it up a lot more this year, but why would you want to keep him off the first line!
He's still an excellent player.
Coyotes fan
6:54
Are my beloved Coyotes going to be in AZ in a couple of years?
Gavin Lee
6:54
I am happy you love them so. Teach your friends.
It's important.
I think the NHL will die on that hill, but if there is no arena and no fans, they'll have to eventually leave.

Jagr to St. Louis. MAKE IT HAPPEN ARMY! We need the mullet in town, he'd provide the, what looks like a younger and younger roster by the day with all the injuries, with much needed leadership and he has proven he can still produce at this level even if it is in a bottom 6 role at this point.
Gavin Lee
6:55
To be clear, age and experience doesn't necessarily mean leadership.
Jagr has been criticized his whole career for not exactly gelling with his teammates, as he does things on his own most of the time.
That said, I think he'd be a great fit there.
6:56
They have a strong enough room already, and Fabbri's spot is basically exactly what Jagr needs to play his best.

Odds Klim Kostin makes the blues out of camp now with the blues dropping like flies?
Gavin Lee
6:56
I'd say better than 50/50 at this point.
Though, maybe they already were.
He's impressive.
Rangers
6:56
Do the Rangers have enough offense to push for a division title as is?
Gavin Lee
6:57
They likely have enough...it's the division that's the hard part.
I can't even imagine what it will take to win it.
Losing Stepan is big, but it's not a killer.

I miss reavo but I love me some Klim Kostin. Great trade by the blues.
Gavin Lee
6:58
Absolute robbery, though he shouldn't have even been available that late.
Ant
6:58
Canes' surprise and make playoffs?
Gavin Lee
6:58
Love the Canes this year, still think they're a year away.
They could surprise, especially if Darling plays as well as hoped.
6:59
But they have to unseat one of the big guns.
Jim
7:00
About time for this week's Duchene question, no?
Gavin Lee
7:00
"Why the hell has that joke of a GM not dealt him yet?"
Wasn't this one of the ugliest situations you can remember in a while?
7:01
I'm not saying he had to get dealt, but it just turned into such a circus, with him undressing in a different area, and reports of other teams being frustrated with Sakic.
It's really unfortunate for Duchene and the organization that it happened like this. Especially after the year they just went through.
7:02
I actually think Sakic has done a pretty good job in the last few months trying to clean things up.
