On the last big run in OT (the one that was a TD but later called back) it looked like a terrible missed holding call at the line of scrimmage that allowed him to get the edge.  Why didn't anyone say anything about it?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:43
Plenty of people posted pics on social media showing Joe Haden was held.

When the Steelers got that huge break in OT and got to play D from their own 37, why were they totally unable to hold it together and keep them out of the end zone?  Did they give up on the game?  A FG keeps the Steelers in the game.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:43
They didn't stop the run.

Can you explain why Todd Haley continually get a bye when it comes to Steelers offensive struggles? This dates back quite a long time. The Giants and Bengals OCs got the pink slip for their woes and Haley has much better talent to work with. The Steeler fans are calling for his head but the media  continually blames it on other issues like "execution".  Please explain the wisdom in going with an empty backfield on third and one at the goal line.

He doesn't get a pass. Plenty of reporters, including me, questions his decisions all the time.

Appears to be some blowback within the team on AV coming out for the anthem, with James Harrison saying "We thought we were all in attention with the same agreement, obviously, but, I guess we weren't" and Coach Tomlin's post game comment that "I was looking for a hundred percent participation." Now that AV standing alone has become a national story, any indication if the Steelers, specifically AV and Coach Tomlin, plan to say "on to Baltimore" in response to further questions or if additional statements will be made?

Maybe we'll get some answers to your questions this afternoon when the Steelers have an open locker room. It was moved until after their team meeting. (It's usually before the team meeting). So I think they're trying to get on the same page before meeting with reporters.

I hope 9-7 is good enough to win the AFC North because that's where we are headed.

12:47
It might be if they beat Baltimore in Baltimore this week. Rest of the division isn't very good.

With a 2-0 record,I saw this team in deep trouble from all sides of the ball.,yet everyone made lame excuses. This team is poorly coached and everyone gives a pass to Mike.Todd,Butler and the rest of the staff.Todd has the weapons that most OC don't,yet he fails to utilize them.First week they struggled, second week they played a good defense. What is the excuse this week?Do you foresee any changes down the road?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:47
If they keep playing like this on offense nothing is out of the question.
Longtime Steeler Fan

Explain to me how we can support this team? Why should I invest my time and money? One man had the guts to rise above all the nonsense? Nobody cares what a player in sports or any entertainment industry has to say about a political issue. Just entertain and shut up. I'll take a knee on the Steelers and the NFL moving forward.

I'm sure they'll miss you.

Would have thought we'd load the box and make Glennon beat us with those receivers?!
Ray Fittipaldo
12:49
With 20/20 hindsight maybe they're wishing the same thing because what they did didn't work.

Been a steelers fan forever..and it seems we always blow it against worst teams why...is it bad coaching or is that on the players?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:49
I blame the players and the coach but mostly the coach because he's been around for all of them.
Murilo
12:49
in your opinion, Who is responsible for the lack of offensive production, players or coaches?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:50
Both. Players have to execute better and the coordinator has to put the players in better situations.

Ben isn't playing well.  Do you agree?  With all of his retirement talk, maybe his heart isn't 100%.  We could have been up 7-0 on the first play but he overthrew an open Bryant.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
Yes he's not playing well. I agree with you. But there are other problems as well.

Why did Tomlin refuse to play Harrison again?  He was always great against the run and keeping contain on the outside of a play.  Chickilo was no longer the hot hand save for the one sack.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
Good question. I'm sure Tomlin will be asked that tomorrow.

12:52
After the Steelers got the ball at the Bears' 20 after the INT, why couldn't they so much as pick up a first down?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:52
In my opinion it's because they didn't run Bell enough on that drive.
Sheff
12:52
Looks like we should have kneeled it before half instead of kicking a FG.  What happened to allow the defender to block it?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
That was a makeable field goal. Why wouldn't you try it? And I'd have to look at the play again to find out exactly who was at fault.

Ray, thanks for the chat each week. Unless I misunderstand the rules, if Steelers holder Berry had simply recovered the ball in the end zone, it would have been a touchback. Then likely the Steelers win in regulation, 17-14. Is this correct?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
I believe this is correct, yes.
chuck D
12:53
Sure looked like their minds were not on the Bears yesterday but more concerned with their national anthem protest.  They came out flat, and never recovered.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:54
I agree. Roethlisberger admitted afterward it was a distraction. Tomlin too.
Joe B
12:54
Is there so much tape on the Haley offense that other teams have it figured it out? Receivers are blanketed, no running lanes, and when Ben audibles, it seems like the D knows what's coming. It's frustrating to watch the Steelers run against stacked fronts and throw deep when the D is playing deep. I think the majority of the blame for the offense is on Haley.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
No doubt they have to be put in better situations. But it's up to the QB to get his team in those situations once the game starts. He calls the audibles at the line of scrimmage.
Joe B
12:55
Is it too early to conclude Bell and Bryant aren't what they used to be? Perhaps Bell's multiple injuries have caught up to him (he looks slow). Maybe a whole year off is too much to overcome for Bryant, who is being out physicaled.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:55
Until both start to play better this will be a popular opinion.
Joe B
12:55
Villanueva's play has been a huge disappointment so far. Agree?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:56
He's given up some sacks, yes.
Bradley
12:56
When the Bears had that false start at the end of the first half with 00:00 remaining, why didn't the half end then? I thought only a defensive penalty could extend the half?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:56
Will try to get answer on this by tomorrow.
