Thanks for answering. what I meant from the begginging part of the question was it has seemingly been all Angel prospect questions and wanted to know whether or not I could ask questions about other teams prospects
Taylor Ward
8:51
Gotcha. PLEASE ASK ABOUT OTHER TEAM'S PROSPECTS! I enjoy talking Angels since I cover them regularly, but enjoy talking all of baseball much more.
Corbin
8:51
TBW, only reason I ask, I'm the clubby in Mobile so just seeing what people outside of Mobile think, also think a guy like Lillis-White could be a real deep sleeper
Taylor Ward
8:52
Corbin! My dude! In the case of Lillis-White, any southpaw reliever has a chance to make it up and make it quick. Just as long as it's not rushed (Greg Mahle, Michael Roth, etc).
Dex
8:52
Would you ever consider trading Mike Trout to speed up the next good angels team
Taylor Ward
8:52
No
David
8:52
Is it just me or do we try to rush guys through the system? Specifically in Mobile. Guys like Thaiss, Gibbons, Montgomery, Rojas
Taylor Ward
8:53
This year has seemed much more aggressive in promotions than in prior years, but it's a new regime and you want these guys to feel battle tested. A lot of the learning experience is failing, just as long as you aren't forcing them to fail and correct it immediately
Dex
8:53
What are the ceilings on griffin canning and nate smith
Taylor Ward
8:53
Griffin Canning has some mid-rotation ceiling, probably a true #4. Nate Smith is a back end arm, 5/6 guy
Vincent Page
8:53
Would you have brought Hunter Greene up as a pitcher or hitter?
Taylor Ward
8:54
Pitcher, I think he's got Justin Verlander potential (or in simpler terms, a top five arm for a full decade).
Corbin
8:54
Mahle has been FILTHY this year here in Mobile, not entirely sure why he is still down here.
Taylor Ward
8:54
Keep him confident. I'm not in his head, but it seems he was pretty beat up mentally when he was sent down
Johnathan
8:55
Jordan Zimmerman came out on fire last year, is he developing well? I keep asking about the young fringe guys and you keep answering so thank you!
Taylor Ward
8:56
Zimm can hit, that was always his calling card. I'll get my first view of him on Friday. Hoping to see how he fairs at second base, never really had a position in college
Tbone
8:56
Since he was right in your backyard, did you ever get the chance to see hans crouse? Obviously has a power fastball and his curveball is decent, but what do you think about him progressing through the rangers system with his iffy mechanics
Taylor Ward
8:57
I saw Crouse multiple times. Not many arms that explosive from prep kids. There's a reason he fell as far as he did. He needs to find and stick with one delivery and the Rangers have a tough task of correcting that. He's an interesting character and I hope he adapts to pro ball well. Did a lot of childish things with opposing coaches prior to his senior year.
Johnathan

Since Royce Lewis was playing in OC, did you ever get a live look at him? If so did you think he was a #1 guy?
Taylor Ward
8:58
I saw him probably near 10 times between his junior and senior year. Thought he was a top three guy last August, a little bit of a rough spring and strong push to the end. Off the top of my head, probably one of the five most talented amateur players in the nation going into the draft, but not the top talent.
Garrett
8:59
Victor Robles and Juan Soto. Who do you like better?
Taylor Ward
8:59
Robles, but I had to flip a coin.
9:00
Just kidding on the coin flip. Robles is one of my dream prospects. Talented, strong work ethic, leader, everything about him is fantastic. Soto is great and is very close to Robles on a talent level, but I can't get enough of Robles.
Nick
9:00
Any late-round sleepers from the Angels draft this year? Thanks.
Taylor Ward
9:01
I think Brandon Sandoval has MLB work ethic and speed, but there's a reason guys that go in the late rounds go in those rounds.
Garrett
9:01
Who will have the better MLB career: Braxton Garrett or Amir Garrett
Taylor Ward
9:01
If healthy, Braxton.
Corbin
9:01
Of the top position players that have come through the SL so far the likes of Dubon, Acuna, Thaiss, Nick Gordon, and Aristides Aquino, etc which would you choose to make the biggest impact at the MLB level?
Taylor Ward
9:02
Ronald Acuna just keeps getting better and better raves, but I have yet to see him. Nick Gordon is pretty darn good
Vincent Page
9:02
Biggest position of need for Angels system? I'm thinking frontline starters, seems like every pitching prospects has a mid-rotation ceiling
Taylor Ward
9:03
Angels system needs help just about everywhere but the outfield. Starting pitching is probably the one that needs the most help.
Devin
9:03
Could David Fletcher make the big team come 2018
Taylor Ward
9:04
Based on everything I've heard from scouts, coaches and others - yes. I've seen him at his peak level and the kid is a real gamer. He's just very limited because he doesn't have much power, will be a second baseman, and has average speed at best. Baseball IQ is going to carry him. Since you're asking about Angels, I'll put it this way - Johnny Giavotella with a much better glove
Johnathan
9:04
What is your general opinion on "going for it" with rentals? I see a trade like Segura for Greinke and I just cringe. The old rules where you got compensation when a rental left were so much better (see: Mike Trout).
Taylor Ward
9:05
If a rental helps you win a World Series, it was worth it. Simple as that for me
Johnathan
9:05
Any news on Torrii Hunter Jr?
Taylor Ward
9:06
Keeps performing, showing some form of consistency. I saw some tape of him earlier this month. Swing is a little robotic, but there's athleticism all over (duh, he was an incredible wide receiver and his dad was pretty darn good). I don't see him as much of a prospect yet, but I have zero problem with Torii's son proving me wrong in every direction.
David
9:06
Any chance we see Scribner in an Angels uni?
Taylor Ward
9:07
It seems he's getting nearer and nearer to that point. Angels need a starter for the weekend. Don't hold out that it isn't Scribner
Garrett
9:07
Last one from me: Do you think the Mets should have called up Rosario by now?
