If we're recognizing how bad Pujols and Cabrera's deals are, shouldn't teams be skeptical about giving said deals to Trout, Harper, and/or Machado? Or would said deals be understood to be terrible at their end, but serve the purpose to stretch out a financial commitment/payment?

Trout, Harper and Machado are all 26 or younger. Pujols and Cabrera signed those 10-year abominations when they were 30-31 years old.
