Your gut feeling right now (still very early I know) on Bell's contract situation in the off season: long-term deal or tag again?
Ed Bouchette
2:14
Tag

Do you think that it is possible that putting up with AB's tantrums might be a big part of the reason why Ben has been thinking about retirement?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
No.

Hi Ed...great chats...what do you think is the strongest positional group on the team?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
As a group, wide receiver

Biggest threat to the Steelers in the AFC?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
Kansas City, but I don't think the Chiefs will get a seed because of the division they are in. The West will beat each other up.

In your opinion, when can we expect Antonio Brown to "grow up"? HIs antics take away from the fact he is the best receiver in the league.
Ed Bouchette
2:16
The word "diva" seems to go with that position. He's done it for many years now; I don't see anything changing

Was Harrison deactivation due to illness or were they just not going to play him?  So, they needed a player for special teams.
Ed Bouchette
2:17
Mike Tomlin said Harrison was ill and missed time last week when he was asked about that. I think that was a good excuse to not dress him. This week will tell for sure.

Do you agree with Deion and Tomlison on Big Ben i truely dont...wat say u
Ed Bouchette
2:17
I have no idea what they said about Ben. I don't watch those shows.

Ed, based on the 1-gap vs 2-gap scheme you mentioned, is that why the Steelers get gouged on the ground more often than the days of Smith-Hampton-Keisel?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
Not sure about that, but Gerry Dulac had a good story on it last week.
GjSteel
2:19
Hi Ed...didn't Bill Cowher move his RB's in and out more often the Mike T?
Ed Bouchette
2:19
Not when Jerome Bettis was in his prime.
Jim

do you think the steelers could benefit from a penguins like coaching change? Pens were good before the change, but great afterward? Seems like too much talent on this team to be mediocre.
Ed Bouchette
2:20
Mediocre? Reaching the AFC championship game is not mediocre. Going 3-1 and tied for the second-best record in the NFL is not mediocre. Some of you people are spoiled

Are the media distractions going to make this team implode?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
I'm not sure about the media distractions. They seem to be making their own distractions.

Broader NFL question, can you see the league trying to force the Chargers back to San Diego now that they are covering seats?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
I thought it was dumb of them to go there in the first place. Here's an idea: Move to Oakland when the Raiders move to Vegas. By then, Oakland would offer a new stadium to lure a team. Why not the Chargers?
2:24
Ray Sherman, 1998. He was so bad Bill Cowher took the play-calling duties away from him and did it himself during the season.
And here comes the question for that previous answer:

"I've never seen one [O coordinator] yet with the Steelers who fans really liked."  Haley is probably the best we've ever had.  Mularkey did pretty well with the pieces he had.  Chan Gailey was pretty good, too.  Arians was OK, but the Rooneys were right to observe he was getting the QB beat up too much.  A better question is: when was the last time the Steelers had a coordinator that WASN'T good?
Ike Steelheart
2:25
Any news about injuries? Specially Gilbert and Mitchell?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
Mike Tomlin said they are in pretty good shape overall this week

The Ravens beat the Bengals and the Browns and got stomped to the tune of 44 points by the Jags.  Are the Steelers really Super Bowl bound?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
Check with me in January

2:26
Regarding your column today, are the Steelers Super Bowl favorites in YOUR eyes or Vegas' ?
Ed Bouchette
2:26
Not yet, but they are high on the list

Expect to see Harrison involved this Sunday.
Ed Bouchette
2:26
Why would this Sunday be any different from the previous 4?
Taz
2:26
By the 4th game of the season, I've usually yelled at my TV about the Steelers' secondary multiple times.  Not this year.  Is Haden making that much of a difference?
Ed Bouchette
2:27
He, Mike Hilton and the year's experience for both Artie Burns and Sean Davis
Plus, a better pass rush

Ed.  Putting current records aside, who are the three best AFC teams?
Ed Bouchette
2:28
Not necessarily in this order: KC, Steelers, New England
