And here comes the question for that previous answer:

Why are they ridding themselves of Fort?  3 ILB seems way too thin for a position with an injury history of Shazier.  Think this is only temporary?
Tony

Do you think the Steelers will be able to slow down minnisota on Sunday. eNO MADEBradford look like Tom brady
Ed Bouchette
2:16
Do I think they will be able to? Yes.
Will they? That's to be determined Sunday.

After watching a little of the Minnesota game and reading the sports pages today, it looks like the Steelers will have their hands full this Sunday. Can't take another day off this week. Your thoughts?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
It looked to me as though they had their hands full LAST Sunday.

2:18
Will Bud Dupree play this Sunday?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
Mike Tomlin said he will have to see as the week goes on. They thought last Thursday he would play but then he did not practice on Friday. He has a shoulder injury.

I was very pleased with watt im loving this pic more and more wat say u
Ed Bouchette

So far, what's there not to like?
truesteelerfan
2:19
Are the Ravens really that good - or are the Bengals really that bad after their week 1 matchup?
Ed Bouchette
2:19
Andy Dalton was really that bad.

2:19
Did Dupree practice today ?

2:20
Is there a way they could play, Shazier, Chickillo, Dupree and Watt at the same time? Chickillo has really improved.
Ed Bouchette
2:20
Players have off Tuesday. First practice of the week is Wednesday.
You could play all four of them if you make one an inside linebacker next to Shazier.

Ed, did you believe the penalty on Will Gay so long after the fact was a justified penalty. Is that something that was normal call so long after the fact?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
Mike Tomlin said today that he was "irate" over that because he felt it was called only after the officials saw it on the scoreboard, which is not supposed to happen.

Were you surprised by the high snap count for JJ Wilcox?  Any insight on the plan for safety - Mitchell v. Wilcox?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
Mike MItchell had virtually no practice before last week because of a summer-long hamstring injury. They wanted to ease him back into it.
Tony
2:23
Is bud Dupree going to play Sunday? Our edge rushers performed well without him
Ed Bouchette
2:23
If he's healthy, he starts
truesteelerfan
2:24
Any word on Wilcox's health?  Like his style!
Ed Bouchette
2:24
He is in concussion protocol
truesteelerfan
2:24
Could 92 play DE in a pinch?  Light perhaps, but strong enough I would guess.
Ed Bouchette
2:24
He can play there in their nickel and dime defenses but not in the 3-4.

2:25
Is Bradford really that good?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
I haven't seen much of him but he was a high pick and I thought the Eagles gave up on him too quickly.

It seemed clear to me that the Browns stacked the box against the run. Uh, that would seem to dictate that other options were open to us, especially when their safeties were at times 20-25 yds. off the line of scrimmage. Was there nothing else we could do except attempt the seemingly mandatory bubble screen ?
Ed Bouchette
2:27
You cannot stack the box against the run AND play two deep safeties.

How much is typical " Waived with injury settlement " to a player? Would it likely be south of $50k or north of it?
Ed Bouchette
2:28
It depends on their contract and how long docs believe the injury will take to heal. It's often negotiated between the team and the player's agent and if they cannot come to terms, an appeal can be made

Hi Ed! There were a lot of things that could be criticized after the Browns game, for sure. But it was good to see the depth the Steelers have on defense this season (Chikillo, Alualu, Gay, Wilcox). What do you thing?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
The Steelers have done a creditable job transitioning from those great previous defenses of Polamalu, etc., to what they have now.

Ed, 5 years later, Jarvis Jones is out of football with stats worthy of an UDFA, thoughts?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
I thought the bad injury to his wrist early in his second season derailed him, bothered him into his third season and he never really bounced back. They did give him the chances to, though.

I see raiders being the true threat..  wat say u
Ed Bouchette
2:31
To whom? If you mean as a top seed for the playoffs, I believe the AFC West will beat up on each other because all four are good teams and the winner won't have the kind of record it will need to earn one of the top two seeds.
Thank you for another great chat. See you next Tuesday.
