Me neither.
Francis Chervenak
2:01
I understand 1/1 prints. But they will not eclipse OA prices
Ron Lim (not that artist)
2:01
I don't even like original art without balloons, let alone digital
Francis Chervenak
2:01
@Michael me too
Dan T
2:01
What @Ron said.  The CAF reports indicate a lot of dollar volume weekly.
Felix Lu
2:02
@DanT...the question is...is it an increase from previous years? Knowing some of these dealers, I wouldn't say they're doing better for there being no shows. It's pretty much business as usual. What I can say is that they haven't been hurt.

@michael read the first issue. Liked it. Phillips Pulp pages just dropped today. Favorite book of this year so far for me
Álvaro

Hey, logging in a little late. Wanted to thank @Felix and all the team for this weekend. I haven't bought anything this time, but there has been a lot of treats around. So thanks a lot! And dang @NickDragotta, I see you are doing great!!
Felix Lu
2:02
Hey Alvaro, thanks!
Pat L
2:03
I doubt that non-collectors notice
Brian Lake
2:03
Im with many of you I understand the 1/1 Artist proof but I just cant pull the trigger it is just not the same
Nick Dragotta
2:03
I will say this, everything I've done since East of West has been on paper.
Felix Lu
2:03
YAY!!!
Michael Perlman
2:03
@Francis What did you get? I have #1 page 24 and the last page of issue 2
Malvin
2:03
yeah, mono prints I really dont understand.. I'll pay like a nominal print price in the low 10s of dollars, not hundreds
Felix Lu
2:03
@Malvin...exactly. I might pay more than a mass-produced poster...but not much more. Because that's all a monoprint is to me...a glorified poster.
Pat L
2:03
I was excited when i saw an announcement about Jorge Jimenez's art drop ... but it's still digital prints =(
Nick Dragotta
2:03
Thanks Alvaro!
Francis Chervenak
2:04
That being said. I always thought Felix had it best with the Dragotta rule. If you really want a digital page, have the original artist recreate or ink over bluline and call it the original.
Ron Lim (not that artist)
2:04
I miss the shows because I finally came into some money this year and was looking forward to going to a dealer booth and actually being able to afford some high-end stuff.
Felix Lu
2:04
@Ron...but you can still do that with a phone call! You don't need a show!

Paper is preferable

In East of West, I always thought the building where The President of the Union sat (Levay) looked like a giant Mr. Fusion from Back to the Future. It's my favorite building from the series.
Francis Chervenak
Brian Lake
2:04
@Malvin I think I am with you on that sentiment
Chris S
2:04
Got close (I think?) to a piece on day one of NYFC but alas...
Felix Lu
2:05
Sorry, Chris! Thanks for trying!
Morgan H
2:05
@JasonK thanks for the heads up!
Michael Perlman
2:05
@jason Nice buy. Did you see the video of Sean painting from the Lakes Fest today?
Reba
2:05
I don't disdain digital as a comics reader....only when I want to buy the art!
Chris S
2:05
@Ron Lim, I would say you’ve had a pretty good year collecting?!? Lol
Nick Dragotta
2:05
Thanks HeadN.
Ron Lim (not that artist)
2:05
@felix True, but the pages I'm seeing online just don't measure up to those SDCC walls.
Andy
2:05
Hello all...
Felix Lu
2:05
Hey Andy 2!
Dan T
2:05
@Felix - I hear you on the dealers, but FCA is consistently a big part of the volume weekly, which is new volume, which to me is an indicator people are still spending well.
Felix Lu
2:06
@DanT...the pool of collectors, especially for new art, has grown tremendously the last few years...I have really tried to build that, and bring new blood in...so far, good results.
Nick Dragotta
2:06
It's only an original if it's a real drawing on paper. Otherwise you're paying for a signature.
Felix Lu
2:06
TRUTH
JasonK
2:06
@michael yes. Saw bits and pieces but will probably watch in full later
