Do you believe the guardians will be okay rotation wise?? Feel like they should have made a move this offseason.

There are so many MLB-ready pitchers on the cusp that I think the Guards will be fine for the rotation.  I can understand not dealing Civale or Plesac until they have more certainty in the younger guys, and of course....."you can never have enough pitching"

How much rope do you think Plesac has in the rotation this season, given last year's struggles?

Related, the Guards aren't going to yank him from the rotation until they know they have someone better ready to step in.  Plesac is also only being tasked to be a fifth starter, essentially, not a front of the rotation guy

Do you think the dodgers would trade a pitching prospect for Amed Rosario or will Cleveland be better off keeping him? Is Pepiot for Rosario fair?

I suspect the ship has sailed on a Rosario trade.  Like with the pitching, the Guardians would've needed to be confident that Rocchio, Arias, etc. would've been able to step into a regular MI role for the team to have been comfortable moving Rosario
And that particular trade offer probably isn't in Cleveland's wheelhouse, given that they have plenty of pitchin

I put the McKenzie question with the Bieber questions because Bieber is the much more likely of the two to get traded next winter.  McKenzie might even be a pitcher that the Guardians look to extend before Opening Day, whereas I'm doubtful that the team spends the big money it'll take to retain Bieber.
Unless Bieber takes a Jose Ramirez-esque discount, but those deals are the exception and not the rule

Looking at that list of offseason moves, I thought the Guardians would've done more than just Bell and Zunino. It seems like this team needs more than to just be making "finishing touches."

It's reflective of how the Guardians are both a team in win-now mode, but also in many ways still kind of uncertain about what they'll be in 2023.  Surely at least a couple of the youngsters will regress, but by that same logic, it seems quite possible that some of the inexperienced players might get better in their second or third MLB season.
Until the front office has more certainty about who the real building blocks are, I can understand why they stood pat, to a large extent.

Building on that, given what the Braves are doing and the DBacks just did extending Corbin Carroll, any chance we see Kwan, Gimenez get extended? Even if they like the young infield prospects, Gimenez not being subject to arb would make him more attractive as a trade chip.

Extending young players has been a Cleveland trademark since the John Hart days, so it seems quite likely that the front office has had at least some exploratory talks with a number of players about extensions.

Maybe Gimenez is a bit tougher to evaluate since he outperformed his peripherals by such a large extent, so Cleveland might want to see what he does in 2023 before considering making a commitment

I would've preferred Sean Murphy by a lot over Zunino. I can't believe CLE couldn't have topped the offer for Murphy.

The Guards are very high on Naylor, which might've been a factor.  Or, maybe if Naylor was offered in the trade, the Brewers preferred Contreras instead.

Milwaukee's involvement is the other complicating factor, since the Braves brought a third team into the mix to make the deal work.

How do you think the team will manage playing time for the glut of middle infielders and starting pitchers between AA and the majors?

Give or take Tampa, the Guardians might be the best team in baseball at developing and managing prospects, especially pitchers.  I don't have much doubt that they'll get creative in finding innings for everyone, and plus, injuries and other factors will also chip down on some of this glut.  Espino's injury, for instance, already takes a notable arm out of the mix in the early going.

Naylor and Bell figure to get the bulk of the 1B/DH playing time, and Naylor might get some (but probably not much) time in right field

What role do you see for Gabriel Arias in 2023 and in the future?

On paper, you'd think Arias or Rocchio are the favorites to be the Rosario replacement, assuming he leaves in free agency next winter.  Gimenez might slide over to shortstop in that circumstance, but however the MI situation shakes out, the Guardians will be keeping a close on eye on both players to see who the heir apparent might be.

And keep in mind, the Guardians have no problem in elevating someone else (Tena? Fox? Angel Martinez?) if they think that player is simply the better option.

With so much depth, would a team like Baltimore consider trading a guy like means for civale or plesac? They would get full year of a back of the rotation pitcher, Cleveland would get half a year of mid rotation guy.

The Orioles are in something of the same boat as the Guardians.....a boatload of young talent, and a team trying to both win and sift through that talent at the same time.

Not to say they couldn't line up on some kind of trade, but I'm not sure that Civale or Plesac are necessarily marked upgrades over what Baltimore already has in its rotation

Alomar has been a "manager in waiting" forever, yet DeMarlo Hale is also right there.  One would imagine the Guardians have some kind of loose plan already in place given Francona's uncertain status, and yet it's also possible that the team might make an entirely new hire with its next skipper.
