I'm both an optimist and a Lakers fan yet I find the season-long optimism surrounding the Lakers truly astounding. What will it take other than a playoff elimination to put the final nail in the coffin with this team?

I don't see a lot of optimism around most of the country. I think most people have written this season off, as apparently many of their players seem to have done! The fact that AD should come back before end of the regular season might give them a glimmer of hope but even he said the other day they don't have any time to gel or develop chemistry with the current rotation. A 3-12 record since early Feb. should be enough evidence that this team will be done in the play in round, if they make it that far.
Tyreke Evans
11:08
In light of Steph Curry's injury last night, do you see the Dubs trying to Sign point guard Tyreke Evans now?  Jordan Poole is more of a Combo guard than a pure Point Guard, so I am not sure they want to hand the Keys over to him for these key games down the stretch.

In terms of Evans, the Bucks would seemingly have the inside track if he officially joins their G League club, as has been reported. Don't forget the Warriors have a full roster and would need to lop someone off to add another player. I can't see them adding a player who hasn't been in the league for multiple years and expect him to provide immediate assistance. Quite simply, you can't replace Steph Curry, so they'll have to get by with Poole, Chiozza, Lee, Moody, etc.

Your top buzzer beater? College or NBA.

You mean of all-time? Tate George and UConn vs. Clemson in the 1990 Final Four, probably before some of you were born. Of course I'm biased because I'm a UConn grad.
Hey! Ho! Let's go!

Bones Hyland - 2023 future 6th man of the year?
Dana Gauruder
11:17
He'd certainly be a candidate. However, if the Heat continue to use Herro as a sixth man, he might win it multiple years. 21 points per game is pretty tough to top.

do You feel they’re are any gaps within the TimberWolves roster?

Is Vanderbilt the long-term PF next to Towns? That would be one thing the front office would have to determine. Beverley is a nice vet to have short-term but if they going to use Russell and Edwards at the wings spots/secondary ballhandlers, that might be another spot they'll look to upgrade in the next year or two.

Your thoughts on Harden? He does seem to be a bit slower compared with his first games as a Sixer but his 3 point shot has really been bad the last few games. Signs of concern or simply normal variability in a shooter?

I wouldn't be particularly concerned at this point. Doc has been using him 40 minutes a game, so his hammy must be OK. He's also getting to the free throw line quite a bit, 12-plus times over the last 3 games. Harden is a pretty average 3-point shooter -- 36 percent for his career. His numbers there are slightly down overall this season but nothing to be alarmed about at this point.

when will Michael Beasley get another shot?  With all the dudes getting a chance with the 10 day contracts, no reason he shouldn't have gotten a call

Beasley hasn't appeared in an NBA game since 2018-19 and has had his share of personal struggles. He was signed prior the bubble restart but then tested positive for COVID. Those 10-days tend to go to younger players who have excelled in the G League or guys like Isaiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins, former NBA starters who had an injury issues that sidetracked their careers but have still been active in recent years. And even Thomas blew up in some G League games before he was signed. I don't think it is out of the question that Beasley gets another chance but it would probably require an organization/ vet coach who is familiar with him and willingness to give him another shot.
Carsen Edwards
11:35
In Light of the Curry injury and him being Out indefinitely, shouldn't the Warriors look into Signing Carsen Edwards on a 2-Way Contract?  I don't believe he is currently on one with the Jazz's GLeague team.   Carsen is lights years better than Chris Chiozza, whom they currently have on a 2-Way.

Edwards has definitely put up some big numbers in the G League this year but never really carved out a role with the Celtics in his seasons there. The Warriors' front office would have to share your evaluation of his talents vs. Chiozza to make that move. But as I noted earlier, I think the Warriors are simply going to ride with the guys they've had on the roster this year, rather than making a move at this stage.

Do you think theres any free agents that might get a late roster spot for a play off team Dana?

Perusing through our list on the Hoops Rumors website, there are some interesting names -- Okafor, Greg Monroe, Cody Zeller, Jabari Parker, Solomon Hill, Sumner, Denzel Valentine, E'Twaun Moore, Langston Galloway, Jeff Teague, Mudiay, MCW. Quite surprised Galloway is languishing in the G League. He had a really solid season off the bench for the Pistons 2 years back. Solid guy and 3-point shooter. Out of the players available, he'd be a guy i'd want on my roster. But the bottom line is if a playoff bound team wanted one of the available guys, they would have already signed him.

That's all the time we have. Thanks for participating!
