Would adding BROGDON to the Heat be a difference maker, keeping Hero also in 6th man role?
Dana Gauruder
11:06
Pat Riley seemed fairly content with his roster, keeping open the possibility of adding another major piece if the right deal comes along. Brogdon has an expiring contract $22.6 mill contract for next season, so naturally the question then becomes what kinds of players/picks would the Pacers want for him? As well as low-cost players like Strus and Vincent performed this year, I think Brogdon's a better player than that duo. The Heat seem to be banking on Lowry having a bounce back year and Riley has challenged Herro to become a bigger defensive factor. Overall, adding a solid player like Brogdon would help some, it just depends on the Pacers interest in doing business.
Kerr's coaching

Its painfully obvious the Warriors need more SIZE out on the court against the Celtics, yet their Head Coach refuses to put in their two Rookies Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.  They both have more size than Jordan Poole, who is getting torched on defense and providing little offense.  I don't understand why they are not giving those 2 rookies some playing time against Brown and Tatum?  Wiggins can't guard both of them.  What are your thoughts?

Playoff series are all about adjustments. GS defended well in Game 2, not so much in Game 3. Kerr and his staff are experts at it -- they've got 3 championship rings to show for it. If they feel Kuminga/Moody can make a difference, they'll give them some minutes. Iguodala and Bjelica could also work up more of a sweat. But I do anticipate they'll make some tweaks to the rotation.

Any good starting SG's the Cavs should look at in free agency or on the trade market? I really don't trust Sexton or LaVert in a full-time role.
Dana Gauruder
11:14
I think they'll have to resolve the Sexton situation before they look in that direction. He'll be a restricted free agent and the Cavs can match any offer. It will be interesting to see what kind of market is out there for Sexton coming off a major injury. As for potential additions, tough to say. A shooter like Bogdanovic or Robinson? Or you do look at more of a two point-guard setup. In that case, you'd probably want to keep Sexton.

How can anyone rationally expect 22-23 Westbrook will work out better than 21-22 Westbrook? Once burned, twice shy-is this just managing expectations that a trade not requiring 2 first-round picks-and other value needed to offload him and get anything in return? thanks

I see it more as a way of keeping their future options open. The Lakers aren't inclined to add sweeteners to a Westbrook deal and that giant contract number ($47.5 mill) is tough to make salary-wise. You take back multiple players with contracts beyond next season, you're killing your future flexibility. Looks to me like the plan is to bite the proverbial bullet next season, then reap the benefits of ridding $47.5 mill off their cap next summer.

Portland sends Bledsoe, Keon Johnson and the #7 pick to ATL for Collins and the 16th. Who says no?
Dana Gauruder
11:23
Would be an interesting move, if the Blazers believe Collins is a major frontcourt upgrade. He's signed through 2025/26, so you'd have to be pretty sold on him as a major piece. The Hawks get off the long-term commitment and pick up two young pieces. If they covet someone in that next tier of lottery picks, it can work. I do think Portland will deal that No. 7 pick, just a matter of which vet they can get for it.

A lot of talk about Mitchell leaving the Jazz but what about Gobert?  Could you see a fit with him on the Hornets?  I know it’s a big $ contract but the one thing they seem to be missing is a true Defensive center (and can take lobs from Ball). What about Hayward, Plumlee and a 2022 first round pick. Is that way too short for Utah?
Dana Gauruder
11:27
Utah, at least at this juncture, doesn't seem interested in blowing things up and starting a major rebuild. Gobert would certainly help the Hornets, they desperately need to become a much tighter defensive unit to make real noise in the East. I don't know how much interest Utah would have in Hayward, considering his recent injury history.

any chance the bucks move off one of their mid sized contracts this offseason? brook lopez? grayson allen?
Dana Gauruder
11:33
I think they'd like to keep Lopez around. Allen? Well, they signed him to an extension, I don't know if there's much of a market for him. The Bucks will have a handful of roster holes to fill, depending on what happens with Portis and Connaughton. They probably have to settle for some low-cost options -- mostly guys who will take the vet minimum. That's what you have to do when three guys are eating up a huge chunk of your cap.

If the Mavs want a center who can  order and protect the paint, why not sign a guy like Bismack Biyombo on the cheap instead of swing for a big trade acquisition?
Dana Gauruder
11:38
They may wind up doing that. Some of this is predicated on how the Brunson situation plays out -- what are they willing to spend to keep him long-term? And the Mavs really don't have a lot of attractive young pieces to cobble together to make a splashy trade. I do anticipate they'll try to get an impact frontcourt player in a trade before tempering their expectations.

Any chance clips retain hartenstein?
Dana Gauruder
11:44
Just depends on whether there's a team out there willing to give Hartenstein more than the Clippers can afford. They hold his non-Bird rights -- they can re-sign him for a salary starting at 120% of his previous salary. But Hartenstein only made less than $2 mill, so he'll probably find another team willing to give him a bigger raise.

Do you think the Hawks are looking at a remake of the roster with one of the guards and Collins leaving and replaced with something like Alexander and Grant.
Dana Gauruder
11:51
Not sure which Alexander you are referring to. OKC isn't giving up Shai. Jeremy Grant is in play, though I don't see the Pistons taking on Collins' contract. The Hawks owner went on record that he felt the organization got complacent last summer, so I do see changes coming to the roster. They'd like to get another creator to take some pressure off Trae.

Is OG actually going to be on the move…or is this just Noise from opposing GMs leaking information?
Dana Gauruder
11:56
I don't think it's a given OG will be traded but he's making $17-20 mill over the next few years. If the Raptors want to use Pascal in the 5 spot regularly, then it makes more sense to retain OG. If they want Siakam to play the 4, it makes more sense to deal him for a big man and/or fortify the backcourt.

Do you see Chet falling to 4 on account of his frame and Ivey's potential pushing him into top 3? Do you feel like Ivey has already received a promise, given his recent tweets hinting the same..?
Dana Gauruder
12:01
I don't see Holmgren going anywhere but 1 or 2. He's a unique prospect and that length and versatility is tough to pass up. He'll fill out more as he ages and will get stronger working with an NBA strength coach. Not sure where you've seen this added buzz on Ivey. I don't see him going higher than No. 4, though I believe the Pistons will snap him up if he's sitting there at 5
