Hello and welcome to a panel discussion on "How Tech Changed Journalism" featuring Marten Blankesteijn (Founder & CEO of Blendle), Greg Dybec (Managing Editor of Elite Daily) and Stefan Betzold (Managing Director of Bild Digital) are interviewed in the TOA15 Studio by  Markus Hohmeier (Director of Publishing & Marketing, The European)

Markus opens up the discussion by introducing the panelists.

Stefan states that journalism is facing similar challenges like the music industry faced by transforming CDs and DVDs to digital and one can learn from them.
Greg believes that based on evolution in social media platforms like Snapchat, they are trying to come up with new types of news.

Marten answers by saying that with different platforms we will be able to tell stories in a different manner.
Markus asks about the importance of video.

Marten answers by saying that video can reach publishers across the market. It has a large revenue model and can help promote content through documentaries.

Stefan says that video is a strategic area for but it gives much more creativity, space for storytelling, and feelings can be transformed.
Markus enquires about Snapchat and experiments with it as a tool.

Marten reveals that it can reach the youth as people sit in front of their screens a lot these days. Since content is specially created for this platform, it can again reach viewers in different and creative ways.
Markus proceeds to ask about articles on Facebook.

Greg replies by bringing content wherever they are. Facebook is also a good way to work, it is seamless and easy to handle content and also with playing videos with content.

Stefan adds to the discussion by suggesting that there is a need to bring content to the audience wherever they are, be it on mobile, desktop or laptop.

Markus rounds it up by asking how technology changes journalism and asks for 3 websites.
Marten states that he loves news from The New York Times and Vox. He finds their editorials to be great from a journalist point of view.

Markus asks his last question regarding further insights on technology and content.
Greg talks about various websites, using tools while working on content and how easy it is to do so.

Marten states that he isn't a fan of text and is more focused on content, so that it can be specific and people can get to read what they are interested in.
