Baseball Prospectus says the worst defender in baseball this year was....Jordy Mercer.  Worse than Kemp.  That doesn't seem right, does it?  Why the huge variation in defensive value between sources? (FG, BP, BR)

Going to guess those fielding metrics don't have a position adjustment mixed in
So maybe Mercer was quite bad for a shortstop, but he was still a shortstop, meaning his defensive value was much greater than Kemp's

I don't know if it's still true but I think BP uses a more simplistic approach to defense. Makes use of play-by-play data instead of more granular batted-ball data

Albert Pujols posted negative WAR this year, and all indicators are terrible.  Are the Angels thinking whether he's even worth a roster spot at this point?  Is there a graceful way that Albert quits?

I imagine the Angels are willing to believe in a bounceback. And to Pujols' credit, he still timed his hits for when they'd matter the most. He's useful when there are runners aboard. But, privately, I'm sure the Angels' front office has had multiple conversations
