I'm sure there's some element of truth there -- the Phillies probably kept some stuff close to the vest -- but they were never an analytical organization. Not even close

so far in spring training, Rich Hill has been bad and Sean Manaea has been very good. is there a situation where Manaea starts in the rotation, and Hill doesn't?

I'm looking after that friend who tore his ACL in the trampoline gym. Yesterday he went into the OR and when they asked him how he tore it, he said "trampoline gym," and the guy yelled into the other hospital room "hey, we have another one!"

I agree that we don't know enough to enforce super conservative pitch counts. I agree that playing experience should be one component of an assembled front office. I agree there should be reasonable limits to on-field displays of emotion but I don't think anyone actually pushes those limits
I definitely want a livelier game

Assuming a .250 AVG and 5% walk rate, Ichiro needs 274 PA this year to end at 3000 hits. Odds of him getting that many PA? Odds of the Marlins playing him all September if he's close and they're out of it?

My dad died 25 years ago and every so often I would use that as a reference to make Carson uncomfortable. He appears to have conquered his internal discomfort
