Rays-Padres World Series?  Discuss.

correct.
Hmmm....
2:02
Next starting pitcher to be traded is.....?
Tim Dierkes
2:03
I'll go with...Ivan Nova
Only one in here?
2:03
Red Sox panicking yet?
Tim Dierkes
2:04
It's fair to be very concerned.  They were a near-inevitable playoff team a few weeks ago, and now they're a coin flip to reach the playoffs.

Rays offense is not sustainable. Even if their pitching strategy works, i cant see them making it past the divisional round.
Tim Dierkes
2:05
Austin Meadows cannot sustain a .357/.438/.732 line, and a few others like Lowe and Kiermaier are playing over their heads, but they won't continue to get zero offense from catcher, Joey Wendle comes back soon, and it's reasonable to say they have six above average hitters in the starting lineup.

What happens first? We find out who sits on the Iron Throne, or Kimbrel and Kuechel sign?
Tim Dierkes
2:06
Topical!  I can already tell you it's Arya.  But to your point, I do expect both pitchers signed before the GoT finale.
White Sox
2:06
Think we get anything decent for Nova?
Tim Dierkes
2:07
Heck no...I was just pulling the name of a random mediocre pitcher on a non-contender out of a hat.

Should we have kept Matt Shoemaker in our organization?  He's doing well in Toronto...far better than Harvey so far.
Tim Dierkes
2:08
Shoemaker has typically been a guy who's been good when healthy, but hadn't been healthy lately.  It's been a great three starts, but he needs to make at least 20 more.

Fix Yu Darvish please. I see improvement each start, is there hope?
Tim Dierkes
2:08
Kind of funny how we grade Yu Darvish on a curve.  He gave up 4 ER in 5.3 innings...but he didn't walk anyone!  Yay?
2:09
True story.  When the Cubs signed Yu Darvish, I was all excited about I bought my son a Darvish jersey.  The somewhat reasonably priced kid kind, but still.
2:10
He quickly stopped wearing it last year, and I said this year, let's make sure he wears it the day after Yu makes a quality start.  We're going on almost a year since his last...

Who makes more sense for the Phillies? Kimbrel? Or Keuchel?
Tim Dierkes
2:10
They'd make good use of both, but I guess I'd say the bullpen could use the stability more.

Who is the most entertaining GM?
Tim Dierkes
2:11
I'll go with Brodie Van Wagenen.  He's putting some pizzazz back into the gig.

Will there be a market for Matthew Boyd that is sufficient to warrant the Tigers trading him, or should they just keep him to stabilize what will be a horrible and/or very young rotation in 2020 and 2021?
Tim Dierkes
2:12
They can retain Boyd through 2022.  I lean toward retaining him so the fans can have something positive the next few years and he can perhaps be part of the next good Tigers team.  That said, you always listen.

MLB is sleeping on the Padres! What do they need to do to prove themselves going forward besides winning more games?
Tim Dierkes
2:13
Score runs.  3.76 runs per game does not a playoff team make.
Disappointed White Sox fan
2:13
Should I be aggravated.  The white Sox were listed in Forbes magazine as the sixth most profitable team in baseball. A 76 million profit.  We’ve been told that they spend dollar in. Dollar out.  Bryce Harper sure would look good in right field instead of. Can’t touch this Daniel Pall’s
Tim Dierkes
2:15
Forbes gets so much pub for their list every year, but I have no idea if it's remotely reliable.  I have to think they are mostly relying on external factors to create these valuations and don't really know.  That said, yeah man, the White Sox had a bummer of an offseason and you're looking at another losing on purpose season.
Kluber
2:15
Kluber hasnt been Kluber so far.  Have you gotten to watch him?  Anything pointing to him struggling this year?
Tim Dierkes
2:17
I've seen him a bit.  His velocity is stable.  His BABIP won't stay at .390.  And there's no particular reason to think the walks will continue.  Maybe he's a 3.50 ERA guy from here on out (assuming health), but two bad starts in four does not mean he's lost it.
Kygo

Is Moncada finally going to produce?
Tim Dierkes
2:17
There's every reason to think his breakout has arrived.
Reds Homer
2:18
What do you make of the nl central so far? Who's start is actually reflective of where they find themselves in the standings today?
Tim Dierkes
2:20
I think everyone except perhaps the Reds is a similarly-talented team.  The Cubs have shown some real flaws though and will need reinforcements.
Dark

When will people start believing that Pivetta should be sent down? We've been watching his mediocrity for over two seasons now, and, quite frankly, im sick of people lamenting the "breakout star" being picked before them in their fantasy draft.
Tim Dierkes
2:21
As FanGraphs has said, there is some Ricky Nolasco-ness in Pivetta.  I don't know that I'd rush out to get him in fantasy, but I generally like him and don't think the Phillies should look to replace him three starts in.

Do you see any of the unexpected hot starts (Dan Vogelbach, Tim Anderson, Jason Heyward, etc) actually being sustained throughout the season?
Tim Dierkes
2:22
I have faith in Vogelbach to remain above average.  And I'm a believer in Alonso and Meadows.
Seattle fan
2:23
If Seattle is still doing well by June 1 do they make a run at Keuchel or Kimbrel? Then re-evaluate near trade deadline if they faulter and trade those guys. I know it is a loaded "what if" situation.
Tim Dierkes
2:24
After the draft, it makes a ton of sense for the Mariners to add either or both of them.  They should absolutely be thinking like that.
