Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well!
Looking forward to another one of these! Let's get going

Brewers look lost since the Hader trade…is Stearns out after this year?
Anthony Franco
1:33
Nah they're not going to fire Stearns over one trade and I really don't think it's as bad as people are making it out to be. They're trying to strike a balancing act between the present and the future, and Ruiz could contribute this year
1:34
It was a bold trade but they're clearly of the belief the drop-off between Hader and Rogers isn't so stark it's worth passing up on Gasser and Ruiz. I think that's reasonable

1:34
Franmil Reyes a good pickup for the Cubs?
Anthony Franco
1:35
I'm not super bullish on him but it can't hurt. Not super expensive, two extra years of arb control if he does figure it out
Spencer
1:36
Can the DBacks get rid of MadBum (money or not) without giving up a top prospect?
Anthony Franco
1:36
They wouldn't have to give up Corbin Carroll or anything, but they'd definitely have to package some young talent or pay a notable part of it down
Bretty Baty
1:36
What's the thinking behind not calling him up after he's hit .312 at AA and .364 in his first week of AAA? Especially with Guillorme going to the IL for 4-6 weeks.
Anthony Franco
1:37
Anthony DiComo wrote last night that they're concerned about his ability to handle third base defensively. Marrero's not an exciting call-up but he's at least a stable defender all around the infield, and it seems like that's what they're prioritizing
1:38
You can make a real case to bring up Baty and just bench Escobar, but it doesn't seem they want to go there yet

It’s Dayton Moore on the hot seat? Since 2015 we haven’t had a winning season and haven’t even shown promise since then
Anthony Franco
1:39
Doesn't seem like it. The Royals are super loyal and I've not seen any indication they're dissatisfied with Moore even though they expected better results by now

With Langeliers up now do you anticipate Murphy traded this off-season before his arb kicks in? Or do you think they could let langeliers bat develop for a year at DH?
Anthony Franco
1:40
I think it kind of depends how Langeliers plays these next six weeks. If he hits .180 or something, then they can just send him back to Las Vegas and don't have to feel pressure to move Murphy unless someone meets a huge ask
1:41
If he carries over what he did in AAA, then it's probably time to earnestly shop Murphy. Not so much about the money -- he'll still be cheap in arb -- but a huge part of each player's value is the plus defense behind the plate. Having them rotate through DH is a bit of a waste
Andrew Friedman
1:41
What contract do I have to offer Trea Turner to keep him in LA?
Anthony Franco
1:42
Not that I expect he'll take an extension this close to free agency, but I think something like 8/260 is reasonable

Do the Giants become sellers in the offseason?
Anthony Franco
1:43
A bunch of their veterans are just going to be free agents. I don't think they'll sell so much as let guys like Belt, Longoria, Pederson walk and reload via free agency
1:44
They've got a ton of financial space, and while I thought they were right to mostly run it back this year after what the team did last season, it didn't work. It's time to get younger and reshape the roster, but that doesn't have to be via rebuild

1:44
How aggressive do you expect Cleveland to be this offseason with the recent success and deep farm system.  Murphy, P. Lopez,….
Anthony Franco
1:45
Yeah those guys are sensible targets. I thought they'd do more than they did at the deadline (although so far you can't complain about the results), but it does feel like they're in great position to consolidate some of the farm depth into an affordable impact player this winter

What happened to the Yankees ?
Anthony Franco
1:47
I'm still not worried. The rotation hit a rough patch for a bit. Right as they've started to pitch better, the lineup has gone cold almost unanimously (aside from Judge). This kind of stuff ebbs and flows throughout a season, just feels like a team slump

Do u think both orioles and Phillies will go to postseason
Anthony Franco
1:48
I still can't see it with Baltimore. I'd go yes on Philly at this point after months of being pretty skeptical there

What will the Marlins do this off-season?
Anthony Franco
1:49
Seems like more of the same from last winter, with hopefully better results. The offense needs work. They don't have a true center fielder, they should probably upgrade at catcher after Stallings fell flat
1:50
Can't say they didn't try to fix the lineup, although the Soler and García signings felt like buying high at the time on players with inconsistent track records
Tigers fan
1:50
What can the tigers do this offseason to improve?
Anthony Franco
1:51
Yeah they need to do a ton if they're going to try to compete in '23. With the GM change, I'm not sure whether that'll even be an organizational priority
1:52
The lineup has gaps all over the place. Hopefully Tork, Baddoo, Greene, etc. fill some of them, but they'll have to upgrade at catcher, second base, maybe third base
Plus backfill the rotation depth, particularly if Skull's elbow injury lingers into next season
Guardians

Should Andres Gimenez have a top 5 MVP finish
Anthony Franco
1:53
I haven't given much thought to the award races but my initial inclination is yes
Irate Nate
1:53
Thoughts on the reds being competitive by 2024?
Anthony Franco
1:55
Feels viable to me. Stephenson, Greene, Lodolo, India, Ashcraft is a good starting point. If they hit on some of their depth adds, I could see them being competitive two years from now

Which of the prospects in the Soto haul has the highest ceiling over the next few years?
