Thanks for stopping by! I've created some trade-related features that could come in handy during this chat or at anytime between now and July 31st. https://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-trade-deadline-candidates-position-...

Do you think manny machado stays in Baltimore ?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:33
I do think he stays until the offseason, at least. They're too close to a Wild Card spot and he's not having a great season so they might not get the best offers at this time.
4:34
Once we get to the offseason, teams will be counting on him bouncing back and having his normal season and there will be more teams interested than before 7/31.

Think traded will startt happening in the next few days?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:35
Sure. The Pomeranz trade was on 7/14 last season. Red Sox also traded for Aaron Hill and Brad Ziegler earlier in the month. It wouldn't surprise me if a couple of the late-inning relievers are moved soon.

Dylan Cease scratched from his start? Anything???
AvatarJason Martinez

Just saw that. Chances of it being injury-related, even if a minor injury, are pretty high for a pitcher. But you never know this time of the year. Need someone on "hug watch" in South Bend.

Try again, do you think the braves will get a package they like for Adams, or do you buy this whole freeman thing at the hot corner?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:39
As long as they feel like they're within reach of a playoff spot, I think they're more likely to keep Adams (and leave Freeman at 3B) unless they can get a player back who can help their MLB roster now (3B or late-inning reliever).

do the giants trade eduardo nunez before the deadline?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:39
Oh yeah. No reason to keep him. He'll be a free agent after the season. Lots of value on a contender because of speed/versatility.

Does Klentak feel moving Hellickson is a priority since he can walk away this offseason.
AvatarJason Martinez
4:43
He didn't last season and had to pay him $17MM to keep him off the free agent market. I don't think he'll make the same mistake again. His explanation for keeping him last year (other than they probably didn't get a good enough offer) is that they needed someone to eat innings and he was a good influence on the younger pitchers who were on the roster. This time around, a lot of the younger guys are ready to take on the load down the stretch.

Do you think NYY can grab Bour?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:45
Sure. They have the prospects to make it happen even without including Gleyber and Frazier. It's such a deep farm system. I think they'll be able to add a bat and a late-inning releiver.

Better taco shop? Kotija Or Lolita's?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:47
Lolita's is one of the best around, but most taco shops are delicious. I'm all about value, though. There's one on 3rd and J or K (I think it's Cotijas) where I can get 2 bean and rice burritos for less than $6.

Can the braves actually get a top 50 prospect for Phillips or adams
AvatarJason Martinez
4:48
Don't think so. Adams can hit but first baseman just don't have that kind of value unless they're Freeman, Votto, Goldschmidt caliber.

Chances on Machado and Britton being traded from Baltimore if the Orioles struggle from here to the deadline?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:49
Machado's so-so season and Britton's multiple DL stints are the reason they won't be traded. Unless some team wants to give up whatever it would've cost to acquire them if they were having more productive/healthy seasons.

Best prospect the Padres land this trade deadline?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:52
A prospect in the Top 70-100 range from the Yankees or Nationals. I think that gives you about 5 options ... https://www.rosterresource.com/milb-prospect-tracker/ I'll go with Estevan Florial.

Do we see Verdugo or Acuna up anytime soon?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:54
I don't see where either would fit on their respective MLB team in 2017. Both are rising quickly up the prospect lists. Should hear those names a lot in trade talks, either because teams want to trade for them or because their team could potentially make a trade to open a spot for them.

Do not like Prado rumors to the Redsox. Unless if Miami eats some of his salary, which they aren't looking to do
AvatarJason Martinez

I think Lowrie, Solarte or Nuñez are more likely.
Kyle Schwarber

What team will I play for on August 1?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:59
I've been pretty stubborn about the Cubs standing pat because they would eventually get hot and leave the other teams in the division in the dust. But they just cannot get going and the Brewers are looking like a real contender. Therefore, I think the Cubs will do something big and I think Schwarber is likely to be part of a deal. I'll go with the Blue Jays in a package for 3+ years of Marcus Stroman.

what are my chance of winning another MVP this season.
AvatarJason Martinez
5:02
If anyone can miss close to 2 months and win an MVP, it's you. But it's not happening. It was nice of you to give someone else a chance this year, though.

What is the % that Cueto is traded? Also, % that he opts out at end of year?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:05
95% chance he's traded and maybe a 60% chance that he opts out. I don't know if he can do better than 4 yr/$90MM on the open market with his 4.50 ERA. The FA market is unpredictable but I'm sure his agent will have a pretty good idea of how much he can get before he decides.
