Welcome! It's been quite a week already, right? And still 13 days until Trade Deadline.

Jason what do you see happening at Sox 3B?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:33
Sounds like Matt Davidson gets a chance to be the everyday guy. Maybe Nicky Delmonico gets a look at some point. They'll re-assess in the offseason.
Julio Teheran
4:34
Where will I be pitching after trade deadline ?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:36
Probably staying in Atlanta. Valuable trade chip but don't think they'll get what he's worth in the next 2 weeks. Maybe they can revisit in the offseason with more teams interested.

Do you see the Dodgers being players for Sonny Gray or Zach Britton -- or are they too costly?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:38
Yes. Dodgers can afford a costly player. Similar to the Cubs last season. Lots of valuable young trade chips and probably one impact player away from being a clear WS favorite.

Are the pirates buyers or sellers?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:39
Still on the fence. Too close to a playoff spot to sell but I think they'll have to make a decision within the next 10 days. Hoping they sell. A few days of McCutchen rumors would be fun.

Should I be concerned about the Indians losing ways?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:42
Not too much. They're the best team in the division and they have the lead despite not playing well. Still so much talent. Might need a trade to wake them up from their 2016 hangover. Seems to have worked for the Cubs. If the Royals or Twins do anything big in the next 7-10 days, that could force their hand. Sounds like they were in the mix for J.D. Martinez.

In my opinion, the Cardinals should be sellers to reload the farm, but do they even have anyone worth decent prospects on their roster?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:45
Lance Lynn, even as a rental, should bring back a good prospect or two. Jedd Gyorko and Trevor Rosenthal have some value. But like a lot of other mediocre teams, they're so close to a playoff spot. Can't sell when only a few games out.

Chances the Giants actually land Giancarlo Stanton?
AvatarJason Martinez

Zero. Point. Zero.

Red Sox 3rd baseman on August 1st is...
AvatarJason Martinez
4:45
Eduardo Nuñez
Bobby Evans
4:47
What deals will I finalize by the end of the deadline?  Other than the signing of Pablo Sandoval?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:47
Unless teams aren't scared off by Cueto's blister problems (see Rich Hill in 2016), it's gonna be quite. They'll trade Nuñez and maybe one of their relievers. I think they'll try to find a taker for Hunter Strickland.
Dan
4:48
Which closer has more value in trade, Britton or Osuna?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:48
3 1/2 years of Osuna is more valuable than 1 1/2 years of Britton. Especially with Britton's multiple DL stints this season.

Where Do You Think Sonny Gray Will End Up?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:51
I'm starting to buy into the Brewers doing something big. They have the pieces to go after Gray. Lewis Brinson could headline the deal. Corbin Burnes would be a good second prospect in a deal for a frontline starter.

With Broxton struggling yet again & Braun having difficulty staying healthy & in the lineup, is it time for Lewis Brinson to get another shot in the majors?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:54
I think we've determined that Broxton is a very streaky player. Brewers seem willing to endure the extreme lows and highs. He had close to a .900 OPS in May-June. Probably earns him a longer leash during the slumps.

was it a disappointing return return for JD?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:56
Not sure what kind of offers Avila was getting. Either they weren't very good or he really, really likes Dawel Lugo. With that said, I'm not sure why he wouldn't wait another 10 days in case another team gave him a better offer. A bit disappointing.

Call up Devers
AvatarJason Martinez
4:58
I think they'll wait until the end of the trade deadline before deciding. If they aren't able to acquire a 3B—Yunel Escobar, Yangervis Solarte, Nuñez, Jed Lowrie are options—I think he'll be there on August 1st.

After the deadline, what kind of players do you expect the Padres to call up from AAA?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:03
Guys like Walker Lockett, Kyle Lloyd and Michael Kelly should get some starts. If they can trade Aybar, maybe Jose Rondon gets some time at SS. Not that interesting, but that's because their best young position players are already in the majors and their best pitching prospects are 1-2 years away.
Cliff
5:05
What would a Dodgers package for Britton look like?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:06
They'd probably have to include Alex Verdugo or Walker Buehler as the centerpiece. Depending on how much the O's like Willie Calhoun, he could also be good enough to headline a deal.
Negan
5:08
Any news on Zach Britton?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:10
Just that he's probably back in the closer's role from this point on. Value should rise if he continues to put up zeros and gets a few saves in the next 7-10 days. Buyer beware, though, on a guy who has been on the DL twice because his arm hurt.
Tyler
5:10
Hey Jason, what do you think the Mariners do? If they do end up buying who do you think they acquire, and who do they give up?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:13
I think they need a legit 8th inning guy who can also spell Edwin Diaz so they don't have to use him 4 consecutive days or 5 of 6 days like they just did. I'm assuming they can acquire that guy without giving up their best prospects (Tyler O'Neill or Kyle Lewis) but I'm not that familiar with their farm system other than it's not very deep.
Brian
5:14
Can the Indians acquire Sonny Gray without having to give up Mejia?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:14
The A's would really have to like Triston McKenzie. He's the only other guy I can see headlining that deal.
Kerry
5:15
Do you see the Orioles having a fire sale?
