I think the Rockies' primary need is a starting pitcher and I don't think the Mets have a healthy one they'd be willing to trade. In other words, Matt Harvey is the only one they'd trade and he's hurt. And his value was already declining.

Too risky to trade Pineda while they're a playoff contender. Veteran starting pitching is so valuable down the stretch and in the playoffs. Can't count on a rookie to pitch deep into the season. Adams will probably be needed at some point, anyways. Ideally, they could get something for Pineda before he becomes an FA but it's a lot easier to accept when they have this kind of season.

Solarte, if he can return from the DL immediately after the All-Star break. Perfect for the Red Sox or Yankees, in my opinion. Maurer should have decent value. Chacin and Cahill have been good.

At least. Probably not one of their top 4 or 5 prospects, but Lynn wouldn't be cheap. I think the Royals end up with someone like Lynn.

I think so. He's throwing strikes. Lots of confidence. 2.2 BB/9 and 9.7 K/9 indicate that he's taken it up a notch or two from years past.

Lots of highs and lows, but his CF defense is good enough that they'll keep him in the lineup. And if he's in the lineup everyday, he's a 20/30 guy. But that also comes with close to 200 Ks. Always a chance that one of his slumps extends too far and he loses his job. Brewers have a lot of OF talent on the way.

Let's say the braves trade for one of the archer/Quintana/gray trio they've been linked to. Even a "fair" deal is a mistake at this stage, right?

A mistake to trade away young talent now? Not really. I think they believe that they can make the playoffs this season and, even if not, I think the plan is to acquire a frontline starter in the offseason. So acquiring one of those guys now would make sense since it helps them in now and the next few years.

I think Avila is almost certain to be traded, which is fun because his dad will be the one trading him. I think they'll try to deal Verlander and will listen on anyone else, although it will be challenging trading guys who make a lot of $ beyond '17.

He's a better hitter, even though he's not having a great year. But Gomes/Perez are a very good defensive duo and they work well with that pitching staff.  And Lucroy blocked a trade to the Indians last season, so I'm sure there are some guys on that team who took that as an insult.
