Five weeks until the trade deadline! Here's a list of 12 likely "sellers" ... BAL, CIN, CWS, DET, KC, MIA, NYM, PIT, SD, TB, TEX, TOR. Lots of good players should be available.

Who can the Braves get to help the bullpen on a budget?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:35
Not really any potential trade chip relievers with an extremely high salary. I don't see $ being an issue and I expect them to add someone to slot into the 8th inning and possibly close.
Austin Jackson
4:35
Am I ever going to play again for SF or will I be traded to a contender that can use my skill set?!?!?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:37
SF seemed like a terrific fit for Jackson. Couldn't have predicted a Gorkys Hernandez breakout, though. A trade is very possible.

You have to draw up a trade for machado and Britton to cards.  What’s it look like?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:39
How about straight up for Alex Reyes? Cards probably wouldn't do it.
4:40
Dakota Hudson and Daniel Poncedeleon could be in a deal, along with one of their OFs (Bader or O'Neill) and/or possibly one of their catchers (Kelly or Knizner). But not sure that's enough for the O's.
Pad Squad
4:41
Do you think Fernando Tatis, Jr. makes an impact right away, or it takes a while? He strikes out a ton and has already been shown as a bit streaky. Can the Pads really count on him to officially kick off their playoff year in 2020?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:43
Not sure if he's a slow starter or if it just takes him awhile to make the necessary adjustments. In any case, it's a good sign that he has dominated after struggling early. I can see him getting the call by mid-'19 so he'll have 300+ MLB plate appearances under his belt entering 2020.
dude.
4:43
tell me something good about the giants, none of the other chats do.
AvatarJason Martinez
4:44
They're only 4.5 games out in the division. If Cueto comes back healthy—that is a really big "if"—I don't see them falling out of the race. Too much talent/experience.

Besides Machado, who will be the biggest piece dealt, and what team do does that player go to?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:47
I think Danny Duffy could be a difference-maker. Poor start to the season, but he's allowed 0 or 1 ER in 5 of his last 7 starts. I imagine that at least 10 contenders will be interested.
Statman
4:48
Just read a quote from Mike Trout (a pretty good player, I think) ... he said that RBI's and Runs Scored are the two most important stats because, as you know, scoring more runs than the other team is how you win games.  Do you think the stat geeks (who minimize the importance of these two stats) have lost touch with reality?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:49
They are a measure of production. If I go 0-for-3 but I score a run and hit a sac-fly, I'll feel pretty darn good because I helped my team. But if we're discussing future production, runs and RBIs on their own don't tell us much.

Yo Jason!!! What might Kela fetch in a trade?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:51
Not a long enough track record to get a big name prospect, but his value is good. 2 1/2 years of an up-and-coming late-inning reliever. I imagine the asking price will be high and there will be plenty of interest.

4:51
When it's all said and done, give me the name of a reliever (or 2) that joins the Tribe by deadline...
AvatarJason Martinez
4:53
They miss Bryan Shaw a lot. I can see them getting Keone Kela, Kirby Yates or Ryan Tepera to slot into the 7th/8th inning.
Clint Frazier
4:54
Are the Yankees going to clear room for me to eventually be an every day player?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:55
One way or another,  he'll be a starting OF by next April.
And by "one way or another", I mean he'll be traded next month or in the offseason or Brett Gardner will be traded in the offseason.

4:56
This might be silly but do you think that Donaldson might be heading for a 1 year pillow contract?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:57
I don't. He's heading into his age-33 season. It's only going to get harder to get one more big contract in his career. If he comes back strong in the 2nd half, I can still see him getting a 4-5 yr deal in the $20-25MM/season range.
4:58
If not, he could be looking at something like 2/45 or 3/60.
Kate Upton
4:59
Should the Brewers target a SS, considering their terrible play from the position so far?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:00
Sure. Freddy Galvis, Jordy Mercer and Adeiny Hechavarria should all be available.
Scott
5:01
The Rays are on a roll. Surely they won't start trading vets right now
AvatarJason Martinez
5:03
Not many vets left. They already traded Colome and Span. I imagine they'll wait as long as possible before trading any of their everyday players (Wilson Ramos) or a starting pitcher (Eovaldi), but I'm sure they'd like to trade Hechavarria ASAP so Adames can play everyday.

Was supposed to ask Steve yesterday.....but I forgot.....so any plans for a NBATR chat????
AvatarJason Martinez

Ask them here ... https://twitter.com/HoopsRumors   I know they had a live chat during the draft.

What kind of package would the dodgers have to put together in order to land manny machado
AvatarJason Martinez
5:08
How about 3 of the following ...  SP Mitchell White, SP Dustin May,  OF Alex Verdugo, SS Gavin Lux, OF Jeren Kendall, OF Yusniel Diaz?
5:09
And another MLB-ready starting pitcher (Caleb Ferguson or Brock Stewart).
OAK Athletics
5:10
We need a starter, who's available for a below the radar trade?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:11
Someone like Mike Fiers or James Shields wouldn't cost much.
Or Bartolo Colon.
Beane Ball
5:12
A’s are sniffing around that 2nd Wild Card spot.  Tyson Ross would look good in an Oakland uniform again, No?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:13
Most definitely. Although I imagine he'll cost more than the others I just mentioned.
