Any calls up on the horizon for the Dodgers with Toles out for the season?
AvatarJason Martinez

Pretty much means that Cody Bellinger is here to stay, even though that was starting to be pretty obvious anyways. Alex Verdugo is in AAA. He could help. But there is still a ton of depth on the MLB roster. Chris Taylor's emergence means that Forsythe can play 1B when he returns and Bellinger can play LF. Still have Pederson, Puig, Gutierrez, Hernandez, Ethier in the 2nd half.

If you're the Nats, Robertson, Colome or Harrera?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:36
I'd go with Robertson because he'd cost the least amount of talent as long as the Nats pick up a good portion of his remaining salary. Either of the 3 would help and I think the Nats need to target someone for the 9th. Too good of a roster to not address the closer role.

When do you think Amed Rosario gets called up
AvatarJason Martinez
4:38
It's becoming pretty clear that he's ready. Mets can be pretty conservative, but it's hard to ignore an elite prospect once he proves that he can improve your team, especially if you're a playoff hopeful. Unless he goes into a huge slump in the next few weeks, I'll go with June 1.

Did the Pirates miss their chance to trade away Cutch?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:41
No idea what kind of offers they were getting in the offseason, but I guarantee you they wouldn't be as good as the offers they would've gotten this July if he would've bounced back with his normal pre'16 production. Hasn't happened, though. So maybe they did miss their chance, but it wasn't the wrong move to wait.

If you could pick any one player from history to build a team around, who do you sign?

Roberto Clemente

hen can we expect Moncada and Meadows up to the show?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:43
Meadows hasn't done much as of yet, so he's kind of missing his chance while Marte is out. Unless he catches fire in the next month, I'd expect him late in the season (August or September).
4:44
Moncada is proving that he's just about ready. However, with the White Sox in rebuild mode (ignore their halfway decent start to the season), the Sox don't feel a sense of urgency. Maybe closer to mid-season.
Yoan Moncada

Will the Sox wait until I'm not a risk for Super 2 to call me up??
AvatarJason Martinez
4:44
Very possible.

Any chance mariners trade cruz to try and right there farm system a little bit?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:46
It's possible if they're out of it in July. But I don't think that will be the case. I think Dipoto's focus on depth will pay off and allow them to hang around long enough for the pitching staff to get healthy so they can make a serious run down the stretch.

Foresythe to first and call up Calhoun? Plan can't be to play Utley every day
AvatarJason Martinez
4:48
Nope. Chris Taylor is good. He's the 2B now and I imagine he will stay there until at least both Forsythe and A-Gon are healthy. There are questions about Calhoun's defense.

Who do you think is the next big (top 50 or so) prospect that gets called up?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:50
Amed Rosario
Blake Street
4:51
Last time a Rockies closer was this dominant?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:52
Pretty sure the answer is never. I think guys like Brian Fuentes and Manny Corpas were closing the last time they were good. Darren Holmes and Curtis Leskanic were there during the Blake Street Bomber days.

When your friend, Jerad Weaver, gets released, are any arms in the Padre system ready?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:54
No one is ready to make 25+ starts and pitch thru September. But Dinelson Lamet is ready to get MLB hitters out. 2.50 ERA and 38 K in 29 IP.

Trea Turner is 5/42 since Eaton went down, think it's just a coincidental slump or do you think Turner is going to continue to struggle this year with no Eaton hitting ahead of him?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:57
It's his 1st full season. Slumps are common. This is when we find out how good he is at making adjustments.

Quantrill is dominating in high A right now. How far do you think he gets this year and when is his eta?
AvatarJason Martinez
4:58
I think he ends this season in AA and makes a case for a call-up next season. Because the Padres will still be in rebuilding mode, they'll be patient and hold off until early 2019.

Any chance Terry Collins is tired of the Familia circus and moves on to Reed to close out games?
AvatarJason Martinez
5:01
1st blown save today. I think he's safe for now. Ask again if he blows 2-3 more saves in the next few weeks. Having Reed around definitely makes Familia's leash shorter than it would be otherwise.

Good evening. If the Yankees remain competitive, shouldn't they just stay the course and consider early success a bonus? The whole idea was to see what they have this year.
AvatarJason Martinez
5:04
"Stay the course" meaning that they wouldn't trade their best prospects (Gleyber Torres/Clint Frazier) under any circumstances. I agree for the most part, but I think they'd consider it if it was for a legit No. 1 starter with at least 3 yrs of control and only if they were in good position to make the playoffs.

Are the Rox 1 starter away from legit contenders?
AvatarJason Martinez

Probably need 2 more reliable starters to stay atop the division for 162 games.

Isn't it time for the Brewers to bring up Hader Woodruff and Lopez to the starting rotation
AvatarJason Martinez
5:08
Not all at once, but I think Woodruff gets called up soon, Hader by mid-season and Lopez gets a look in the 2nd half.

How long will the Yankees' leash for Sabathia be? Chance Adams seems like he should be getting the call soon.
