Steve Adams
3:06
Greetings. Start sending in your questions and I'll get rolling in a minute or two here.
Jason
3:07
What kind of trade makes sense for jay Bruce
Steve Adams
3:08
I mean, at this point, they should just be happy if someone takes on most of the remaining money in the deal. He's just not that great, and the market is flooded with cheaper, comparable players. I still don't understand why the Mets traded for him in the first place, or why they compounded the issue by exercising his option. I don't know who's taking him on at this point.
Josh
3:09
Should the Pirates really trade for Quintana? Would they have to give up Josh Bell as one of the pieces?
Steve Adams
3:11
I'd imagine the White Sox would be very interested in Bell as a part of those talks, yeah. Quintana makes a ton of sense for the Pirates, and it's easy to envision them in the Wild Card hunt next season, so as long as it doesn't completely gut their system, I'd be on board with the move. If they send something like Meadows, Glasnow, Keller and Bell or something staggering like that, obviously the outlook changes. Everything's dependent on price.
Josh
3:11
Where do you believe Tyson Ross will sign?
Steve Adams
3:12
Rangers make the most sense to me. I get the appeal of the Cubs, but he wants to rebuild his stock and make as many starts as possible. The innings might not be guaranteed for him in Chicago.

3:12
The Pirates are in on Quintana. They do not want to part with Meadows or Bell. Is it possible they flip Tony Watson into a prospect the ChiSox like to make the deal happen?
Steve Adams
3:12
I don't think Watson's going to bring back a significant enough piece to move the needle in the Quintana talks.
3:13
Not a knock on Watson, by any means, mind you. But he's only got one year of control remaining
Dan
3:13
Who do you like better for Philly..Saunders or Moss?
Steve Adams
3:15
Probably Moss. I know there's a lot of love for Tommy Joseph in Philly right now, but I'd like to see a full season out of him before assuming he can handle regular duties at first. Moss fills a corner outfield need and provides a safety net for Joseph. Can also move into the infield if one of the outfield prospects forces his way into the Majors

3:15
What kind of contract should CJ Wilson expect if he has a good workout?
Steve Adams
3:15
Even with a good workout, I'd still think he's looking at a minor league deal. He hasn't pitched since Aug. 2015, and he's had elbow and shoulder surgery since that time.
3:16
If some team does give him 40-man spot, the guarantee on it will probably be something like $2-3MM, but I'd bet most teams want to see him prove himself in Spring Training before writing him that type of check
Jose
3:16
Are the A's potential landing spots for either Trumbo or Bautista?
Steve Adams
3:17
Yeah, but I don't think they're sitting there saying, "We need to get Trumbo after missing on Edwin." They're very different players. If Trumbo's asking price finally comes down to three years and something in the $30MMs, then sure, sign him and put him at first base.
Drew
3:17
phillies would take bruce if they basically got him for free
Steve Adams
3:18
The Phillies are one of the only teams I can see maybe shrugging and just taking him at 1/13 for a warm body in A-ball or something. But even then, they have to wonder if they can just sign Saunders or Moss at a cheaper rate and receive comparable production.

3:19
What players still available should the Royals be looking at -that would improve their current situation?
Steve Adams
3:20
Value plays in the bullpen and maybe one of the left-handed 1B/DH options to spend some time at designated hitter. Logan Morrison, Adam Lind, Pedro Alvarez.... I don't love any of the three, but for a couple million bucks, there's some potential value there.
Duquette
3:20
Do I really want another lefty outfielder to go with Kim and Seth Smith? What am I doing?
Steve Adams
3:21
Smith's glove isn't exactly a plus asset, so they could just DH him most days if they add another outfielder with better defensive capabilities
Jon
3:21
Do we know when Napoli and Trumbo will be making a decision?
Steve Adams
3:22
I don't think there's a decision to make for Trumbo right now. Napoli at least seems to have offers and a couple of teams vying for him. We haven't seen any reports of advanced talks for Trumbo or offers to Trumbo outside of Baltimore. I'd bet Napoli comes off the board first, but there's no great way of knowing when it'll happen.
Dan
3:22
Bruce for Brach Mets eat some money? Why not?
Steve Adams
3:23
Because two years of Brad Brach is more valuable than one of Bruce even if the Mets are offsetting some of the cost.
Yovani Gallardo
3:24
How much do the Dodgers want to get rid of their overpriced starters and Puig? Would they trade say Kazmir and Puig for a box of rocks and/or Ben Gamel & Tony Zych?
Steve Adams
3:24
I doubt the Dodgers are so anxious to shed Kazmir's deal that they'd just give Puig away to make it happen.
Nostradamus
3:24
Does the MLB trade rumor team have their own fantasy baseball league? Who usually does well?
Steve Adams
3:25
We do! I've won each of the past two seasons, and I don't remember who won before that, though I suppose I can look somehow.
3:26
Tim the year before that... I won't go too far back since it's been running like 8 years ha
Doubt everyone wants the full history of the league
Bork
3:26
Bautista only really has 2 options left, right? Sign with the Jays or wait until after the draft. It doesn't look like anyone wants to give up any kind of draft pick to sign him.
Steve Adams
3:27
Nah. Some team will give him a one-year deal or two at a lower rate. Especially one with a protected pick, I'd think.
3:28
He's yet to show a willingness to take less than the QO on a one-year deal that we know of, remember. If he says "Ok I'll sign at 1/13" then I'm sure teams will reconsider. Plus, who knows what injuries will creep up between now and Opening Day
Donk
3:28
Would the Giants be able to get Billy Hamilton or Kiermaier w/o giving up Beede or Arroyo?
Steve Adams
3:29
I don't know that they'd be able to get Hamilton or Kiemaier even if they were willing to give up Beede or Arroyo. I mean, they could always deal from their MLB roster, but you're not getting either of those guys for second-tier prospects -- espcially not Kiermaier
Rebuild
3:29
Who do you think got the better end of the Jarrod Dyson for Nate Karns deal?
Steve Adams
3:30
I like me some Jarrod Dyson, but four years of a potential 4/5 starter is more valuable to me. Then again, the Nationals, Rays and now Mariners have all given up on Karns, so maybe there's more to the story than most people know.
