But there might be a spot for Franson in Los Angeles, depending on how the new front office feels about analytics. They used to be high on it, and Franson is still a darling in that world.
They added Folin, but I'm not sure if he's a full-time option.
6:30
We've talked about Vanek to Anaheim before on here, and how I think he could fit in the right role.
You have to shelter him, but as a powerplay/shootout specialist I think a team like that could use him.
For Jagr, there has been all this speculation about western Canada but I'm not sure I buy it.
6:31
I'm not sure where he'll end up, because I think about 20 teams could use him.
Stafford is in the same boat. he'd be a fine addition to a ton of third lines.
6:32
I can see him going somewhere like Arizona though to try and get some higher playing time.
But really, who knows at this point. Stafford likely has to settle for a PTO.

Could the Leafs still be sniffing around at one of Vegas' young defencemen? I know the 2018 draft is supposed to be really deep but I would be willing deal from our stash of draft picks to land someone impactful.
Gavin Lee
6:32
There was all that talk about Colin Miller at the expansion draft, but it all originated from a single post about how good of a fit he would be.
6:33
I think the Leafs might be happy with the group they'll bring to camp, and look for a midseason addition.
Vegas is a good place to look, but there are a lot of players to avoid there too.
As far as impactful goes, there isn't much on the Golden Knights.

Is Carolina going to make another move or do they go o camp with what they have?
Gavin Lee
6:34
I think they're still sniffing around, but nothing has come to light. They're a good team on the rise, they don't need to rush anything.

Yeah great chat Gavin
Gavin Lee

Thanks for reading Tyler.

What would be your choice Rakell at 3C and Vermette or 4C or Rakell on wing and Vermette at 3C?
Gavin Lee
6:34
This is a question we seem to get every week in some form.
I think I'd keep Rakell on the wing, he's been so dangerous there.
6:35
But like any other Ducks fan, I don't like Vermette at 3C.
I'm just not sure why they didn't address that sooner.
6:36
Maybe they think Vermette-Rasmussen-Wagner is a fine group for the bottom two spots, but I don't.
Or maybe they have more faith in Sam Steel making the jump than I do.
6:38
If you're looking for something that's not crowded..come to a hockey chat in the middle of August.

6:38
Would you include Winnik in the ufas you van't believe haven't signed yet? Would he not be a good 3C/4C in WAS, PIT or NYR? Is he too slow?
Gavin Lee
6:39
He's just not a center anymor.
anymore..
He's a really, really good defensive winger.
And I thought he'd have a job too..but that's exactly the type of player that sometimes has to wait for a PTO or injury.
6:40
Disappointing for Winnik too, coming off a pretty darn good year.

The Southern Professional Hocky League, where do they fit as far as a professional development?
Gavin Lee
6:41
Pretty low on the pole. I'm not even sure I'd call them a development league.
6:42
There is some awesome hockey there, don't get me wrong.

6:43
Would they (SPHL) be on the same leval as the FHL?
Gavin Lee
6:43
The Federal? Yeah, I guess the same level.
6:44
To be honest I'm not sure which would be considered higher.
Markus
6:44
How do predict NYR fill their 3C spot? Andersson? Miller? Trade? UFA?
Gavin Lee
6:45
I'd be on the play Lias Andersson train if he can show the level he did in the Summer Showcase all camp.
