Bryant's childish social media posts aside, why aren't they targeting him more?  They've not connected on the deep balls.  Seems to me the right solution isn't throwing him less balls and only deep balls.  Get the guy into a rhythm, ya know?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:37
It would help if he looked for the ball when in one-on-one coverage.

Have you noticed the Bengals repeatedly tackling Bell in the same manner that Burfict hurt him two years ago?  That grab up top and then swing your hips into his knees type of tackle.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:38
Yes I did. That's why Bell said last week that it wasn't just Burfict who was trying to injure him in previous season. He believes many players on that defense have tried and are trying to injure him.

Hi Ray, TE McDonald missed another TD yesterday, is he out?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:38
He's going to start losing chances if he continues to drop passes.
Jim

Wouldn't the receivers time be better spent running routes, studying defenses, etc. that coming up with cute TD celebrations? Just seems immature to me, funny, but immature.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:39
Ben and others have said he is mature. You know, you can have fun and still be mature and know your plays, etc.

I'm missing Jesse James in the red zone. You?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:40
The Steelers are missing anyone in the red zone. They need anyone to make a play down there.

What is it with Antonio Brown and the Bengals?  They seem to bottle him up most of the time, despite yesterday's halfway decent production.  Are they in his head?  Are the corners on this Bengals team a cut above the rest of the league?  Or are they not threatened by Martinis, and hence pushing double/triple coverage to AB's side?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:41
Sometimes defensive coordinators pick their poison. They shut down Brown yesterday but Bell gouged them.

Did Harrison get into the game much yesterday, or are they saving him again for later in the year or when they need a boost?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:44
He played seven snaps. Wasn't involved in the plan very much.

No I’m not kidding....the Bengals were down by two scores and couldn’t muster more than 20 yards of total offense in the second half! That game was over in the 3rd...

Anything can happen in a football game. Didn't we just see that from Jacksonville.

Did we underrate the Joe Haden signing? I mean the secondary has been rock solid through 7 games, and Haden really tandems with  Burns well. Hasn't given up big passes. Haden has been a impact player that no one really talks about. How do you rate his play so far?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:46
I would say good to very good. Got his first INT of the season yesterday.

Hi Ray, nitpicking after a great win but any thoughts on why the Steelers seem to never run QB sneaks on 3rd/4th and short?  Data shows QB sneaks convert 20% more of those plays than other plays.  And Ben is 6'5".  And Brady converts over 90% of them for his career.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:47
I wrote about this after the loss in the AFC championship game. Ben said he is willing to do it. Yet they never call it. I think Todd Haley has said in the past he doesn't like to put his QB in harm's way.

Why didn't Tomlin challenge the spot on Grimbles catch. It wouldn't have been a first but would have been spotted at least a 1/2 yard closer and we would have gotten the first down on the 4th down run. Just dumb when every replay showed he was at least a 1/2 yard from where the ball was spotted. And he had plenty of time to challenge.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:47
He got burned on a spot challenge the other week. I don't think he wanted to go down that road again.
Jim
12:48
I have to admit that I would have been all over Tomlin for the fake punt if it hadn't worked. We had the lead and were dominating on defense. Stupid play or genius?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:48
As Tomlin pointed out after the game they weren't going to let the Bengals get overaggressive. They took advantage of their overaggression. Calculated gamble that worked.

Do you think we run more efficiently behind Nix, or from a single back formation?  I like the "power" mentality of running behind the fullback.  Seems like our offense can get too "cutesy" at times without one.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:49
I tend to agree with you.
Jim
12:49
Any thoughts on why the Steelers always seem to leave a team in the game when they are dominating them? That game should have been been 40 something to 14.
Ray Fittipaldo
12:50
Bad habit they have to fix. A good opponent will come back and beat you.
Moose
12:51
Is Tony Romo just really good at predicting what we are going to on offense, or are we just easy to predict for anyone with a good football knowledge?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:51
Apparently, he does that every game.
Ike Steelheart
12:51
Will we see Tuitt and Gilbert after the bye week?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:52
The week right after the bye? Hard to say on Tuitt. I'd be surprised if Gilbert is back before then. Don't really have a feel for the Tuitt back injury.

How long will the NFl continue to condone the behavior of Burfict before realizing that all of the fines and suspensions are never going to change who he is as a person?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:53
Probably the next time someone gets hurt.
Widda
12:54
Way to early to care, but for the record we are the #1 seed in the AFC at this moment, correct?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:54
Yes you are correct. And you're right, it's way too early to look at that stuff.
12:55
Thanks for all the great questions this week. We'll do it again next week after the Detroit game.
