Would it be possible for the league to pro-rate player salaries for guys who are traded mid-season?

Hi Chris and thank you for the question and for joining us. Yes, we absolutely can and plan on doing that going forward. As we automate things salaries will be paid out in real time...

For instance, if you trade for a guy in mid-July, we calculate out the number of days left in the year (183 total days) and pro-rate the salary that is left. So, think of your budget like a checking account/actual payroll where a player gets paid every two weeks.

is it the lineup order matter?

Hi Wen-Jie. Than you for the question. Yes, absolutely. We have built in criteria for where hitters bat in the lineup. It's very much like an MLB lineup. You want your best hitters getting the most AB's and your "on-base" and quality baserunners hitting in front of your more more productive hitters. Some teams like to stack at the front and some like to balance out 1-8/9. The choice is yours.

Grateful to Kenny and everyone involved in the FYPD but when do we expect to finish, when will the drafted players get added to our organizations and what can we do to reduce the time of the draft to mirror the timeframe used by MLB?

Thank you for the question, Mike! Yes, huge thank you to Kenny for helping the league office out. We couldn't do this without him. We have 10 rounds to go so we are hoping to bang the rest of the Draft out in the next week. Players will be added soon after to the Master List, so expect something in the next few weeks with full results from the Draft.

I would absolutely love to do a Draft in real-time over three days just like MLB. We are working on automated features that can provide for a fun filled three day event just like MLB. Expect something in June of 2018.

How will September expanded rosters work in WSFB? While teams can go up to 40MR, they never do. Thanks!

Expanded rosters will work just like MLB. You will be allowed to add up to 40 players and use them each day. Our roster expansion is September 4th through the end of the season (we are always three days behind the MLB schedule).

What can we do to ensure that teams only have 25MR's at each minor league level? Some teams are WAY over on that at several levels. Stockpiling players beyond reality is a bit of a concern to me - a rebuilding team with financial constraints. Thanks!

This is a great question, Mike and a big concern for me as well. I had to make a priority call on this as there were more important factors to focus on than this. Monitoring this is a huge project. Now, we are already automating this on our project build that is rolling out November 1st. This will all be resolved for the off-season when free agency begins.

Can you summarize for everyone when/how minor league players declare free agency in the offseason? When and how will we apply this rule? Thanks!

Five days after the World Series is when free agency begins. That goes for MLB and MiLB players. You should know all of your free agents on the Depth Charts. As for minor leaguers, that list will come out in October.

You guys help me by being engaged everyday. Being active with lineup changes, staying on top of your rotation and bullpens, etc. We want as much competition as possible. Especially with the pennant race fast approaching. We want as much integrity as possible for these games that decide our playoffs. So, participation is what we are most grateful for.

Playoff rosters will need to be set September 3rd. Expect a full explanation in the next 10 days.

Why are all of the games 9 innings? Haven't seen any go into extras.

The current program is not built to go past nine innings. It is engineered to make sure all games are decided at nine innings. However, going forward with our new phase or programming for 2018, we are experimenting with extra innings. No guarantees yet, but I feel good about it happening. Thanks for the question, Sam. To follow up on Mike's question, will there be a mechanism in place to help us maintain the roster limits at a particular level?

Yes, the new web platform that is being built will control all roster sizes/restrictions. You'll basically see your depth charts on a web platform, including all of your minor league rosters.

How will free agency be done? Website?

Yes, free agency will be done through the website this year. Starting about the 2nd or 3rd week of November. We have "agent" features built in now as well. A lot of exciting stuff to disclose once we know it's a go.

new GMs should be restricted making deals before paying full?

This is a league decision going forward. I am all for it when we roll this beta into a full fledged league. The balance is making sure we are at capacity vs. being allowed to make deals. I had a lot of GM's asking me to fill teams so trades could be made. So, it's a fine line but this will be up to the majority of the league to decide.

Where is WSFB holding the WSFB World Series? How can I get tickets? Is there a venue to calculate the games?

LOL we are actually considering doing a fun one or two day World Series event in Las Vegas. I have to confirm with some people who would help put it on. But, we're talking about inviting people for an event where games can be followed along online live. Stay tuned!

What's the best way to submit our lineup? I've been submitting mine through the "Game Files" tab on DropBox and I know other teams were as well, but many of those files were deleted recently. Is it ok to still do it that way or does email/some other form work best for you?

Hi Spencer, good question. Whichever is most convenient for you. Yeah, oddly someone deleted the folders. You can submit via e-mail or the dropbox. At least through e-mail you know it's been confirmed as I e-mail you back.

Can we change the depth chart and rotation?

Do you mean the way it is actually shown on the Depth Charts? If so, yes. I can do that for you if you want to tell me what you want the order to be. It's purely cosmetic though as that has no effect on you daily lineup. I prefer to do those changes myself though, because the Depth Charts are the link to everything else. So, if something gets out of order, it could mess things up.

Those are done through our algorithms that calculate a player's value. All will be disclosed once the season ends.
