The Phillies would get a steal on Chatwood at 3/20, my question is why would Chatwood take that from a bad team at a low AAV. Wouldn't he be better served signing 1/5 somewhere pitcher friendly like San Diego then hitting the open market a year from now when he could get 4-5 yr AAV 15+?

It's sort of the Phil Hughes question. Hard to know how a given player will feel, but generally, it's tough to turn down gobs of guaranteed money.
